The missed tackles are staggering, and our lockdown corners are playing very average. Yet AU and their "gulf coast offense" still struggled and needed a gift call to go ahead.
While we did not play like we deserved to win, I would not be on cloud 9 if I were an AU fan. They will lose a couple times by the end of the year.

    I haven't seen a decent blitz in 3 games

    This is a fine defense.

Anytime you can hold a top-15 team to 10 points you should win the game. Anytime you can hold two future first-round NFL running backs to under 100 yards in the same game you should win that game.

The offense let the defense down.

I wish everyone would get off the defense back. We held them to 9 points since the ref helped with the 10th. I agree that we are arm tackling a little to much and tryingt to stripped the ball more this year. Saban said it best when we need to learn how to play as a team.

Except for two plays (the big play by ASU and the one where he got burned today but JC overthrew the guy), I think Corey Webster has been outstanding in coverage. His tackling is beyond piss poor though, it is awful, it sucks, I can't put it into words how bad it is. Travis Daniels has been solid, but he has fallen asleep a few times (one TD against OSU and a big 3rd down today). But the real problem has been coverage by the LB's and the safety's (most notably Jesse Daniels). We keep getting killed over the middle by TE's, a lot of it has to do with our blitzing schemes, but most of it is that our LB's and safety's just got lost in coverage. Hopefully Will and Nick fix this before it gets exposed more than it already has.

I don't understand why teams haven't run the over the middle play more often. I would run it until LSU stops me. I didn't see a replay but did we even blitz on the 4th and 12 that they converted.

Minus a few mistackles, I think our defense was outstanding today. I was very impressed on how far they've progressed since the OSU game. You must remember that we lost two very important players in Lavalais and Hill. Given this fact, our relatively young defense did well and will continue to improve. This was only game 3.

I thought it was damn good defence, we were rushing Campbells throws all game, we only allowed less than 100 yrds a piece to 2 of the finest RB's in the game, and shut allowed only a field goal in the first and a touchdown eith a minute. It's the defence that is clicking, offence needs a lot of work. Randall should have played considerably longer in the game ecspecially the last drive.
