is it just me or but when russell was in that we started running the ball a crap load better, maybe because they were playing prevent but on the td drive toward the end of the first half alley was getting past the first line of defense, i think opposing defensive coordinators show more respect defending the pass against russell than against randall, on some deep throws over the middle randall has to crow hop to make that 40 yard throw down the field as where when russell sees a man streaking down the field all he has to do is flick, thus leaving no time for the safety to get over there, any one else think this?
I think that's true. We are very limited with either QB in, either because of their youth, inexperience or just inability. But with Jamarcus Russell in, opposing defenses feel they have to protect the down field pass alot more than when Randall is in. They can afford to stuff the run better against Randall because there is less he can do to stop them.
