When is the last time LSU had a season that didn't involve a game (or two) that stung or just hung around for the entire year. I'll give examples of this century...

2006 - Auburn - There is no doubt in my mind that this game will be talked about until we beat them a year from now in Death Valley
2005 - Tennessee - Yes, a lot of people are still questioning Miles on this collapse
2004 - Auburn - 10-9, yeah... missed XP. Phantom penalty.... (Cap 1 Bowl close second)
2003 - Florida - How can a team that won the MNC have a game where the offense did not score?
2002 - Arkansas - Miracle on Markham, 9 seconds and 31 yards allowed the Razorbacks to go to the SECCG and get destroyed by UGA.
2001 - Ole Miss - An 11 point loss to the Rebels, a game that was ended by two quick fumbles by LSU in the last 7 minutes of the game.
2000 - UAB - Fans questioned our new coach's integrity with a disappointing loss to an "inferior" team.

well i think any season in which we lose a game, that game will linger around just because we expect better

berge, when is the last time LSU had the #1 overall ranked defense besides now. im curious. im hoping not the late 50's. I know nebraska ruled the late 80's early 90's when arnsparger had a good one.

Didn't we finish the '03 season with the number one total defense?

It could be much worse, like during the 90s when we lost so many games it didn't sting at all. We were use to it.

Now, we expect to win every game. So yeah, it's going to hurt.

Well, we had to SHARE that ranking with USC as well, so their feelings wouldn't get hurt, Since they wanted us to share OUR NATIONAL TITLE!!!!!

Yeah, but even in '99 there were the one or two games that just were like..... ugh... we SHOULD have won that!

    MSU - 16-17 loss...
    Bama - 17-23 loss..
    UGA - 23-22 loss...

Three losses that were decided by a total of 8 points in a 3-8 season.

Boy, we've come a long ways from the Hallman/Dinardo days. Don't know how many remember the 2-9, 4-7 years. OUCH!

2006........... Life is good and is going to get better.
