Hot glazed Kremes @ KK when that hot light is blaring. Not even close. Perfection occurs in that hot sugar zero. Once they're cold & in the store then all bets are off.... We FINALLY got 'em out here 3 years ago... I grew up in BR & went to Redemptorist - KK was RIGHT THERE on Plank Road..
I grew up in south BR but many was the time that I made the trip to Plank Road for some fresh, just baked KKs
They used to have Sunrise doughnuts in Lafayette. They had the best "cake" doughnuts I've ever tasted. It was right next to Pete's on Johnston St. That place changed names so many times but still made the same doughnuts. Not even Meche's or Krispy Kremes could compete with that.
new york is crazy for krispy kreme. they used to have one in the world trade center that was always packed. i love krispy kreme too, they destroy dunkin donuts. however, if i must go to dunkin instead of krispy kreme, i'll take the blueberry cake donuts. a few years back when i lived baton rouge, i used to take my girlfriend to the krispy kreme on plank road, she would be nervous about the neighborhood, but i told her to shut up and enjoy the incredible donuts we bought there.
o.k. since i'm researching new york city food, i've come to a conclusion....new york city people are fat....look at all these donut places they have..... http://donuts.addresses.com/yellow_pages/Dining,+Drink+and+Food/Donuts+-Doughnuts/4/1076/NY/A.html
