After a late round of golf yesterday, I was ready to grill some steaks for my brother and our friends and then I remembered it was Good Friday. DOH! So I heated up some stuffed crabs, fried up some jalepeno hush puppies, crab boiled some corn on the cob, and grilled some shrimp skewers and redfish. Yurned out to be a good night.

I think I will do the steaks today with some backed potatoes.

im thinking grilled lamb chops, fresh steamed aspargus, and maybe tabouli.

we shall see. it depends on how long the game goes. first things first, and first is lsu baseball!

edit: scratch the lamb chops. didnt want to be trying to cook dinner during the game so i put a frozen pizza in the oven.

I hit a home run today! All 3 kids at home, two back from college. Plus my daughter's boyfriend, daughter graduates in May.

I made a big chicken gumbo today, with the kids chopping the onions, green onions, and parsley (musta put like 4 cups of parlsey in that gumbo, most ever, and it WAS GOOD). I nailed the gumbo, DARK roux, just right on the salt and cayenne. It was a beaut.

While the gumbo was simmering, we threw together a recipe for Bon Ton Cafe bread pudding, from the NO restaurant (I think they reopened after Katrina). Simply excellent. I had to go buy a fifth of Early Times for the bourbon sauce, but it was really worth it. Had two servings of that, with Community Dark Roast coffee, Yummmm.

Then wife and I got the talk, daughter is ENGAGED in addition to graduating!!! He seems like a good guy, so I'm a happy camper. :)

Easter dinner: grilled rib-eyes, cheese-stuffed breadsticks, and stuffed potato casserole.
