What will Malfunction Moore do with the young fawn Shula?

I am hearing a lot of behind the scenes power struggles wanting to get rid of Shula. I was at the game on Saturday and saw what the fans are upset about. Auburn fans are truly hoping that nothing happens to Shula as they own Alabama right now. I think at the end of the week if BAMA has a Petrino or someone that is good in hand, they will fire Shula.

My own opinion is the Bama fans are too impatient and ungrateful. Shula took the job when it WAS A MESS!!! The Price debacle hit, all the head coaches were in their new jobs, recruiting was over till next year, Bama was on probation, for crying out loud, IT COULDN'T GET ANY WORSE. And Shula returned to his alma mater to bail them out, knowing he'd get his ass kicked for several years to rebuild the program. Last year he was 9-0 going into the last 2 games, without an o-line, but a WONDERFUL defense, he goes 9-2 and beats Tx. Tech, a very good club in the cotton bowl. Don't you folks remember anything. That club populated several NFL defenses (Ryans starting for the Texans).

They lost a lot on defense, plus QB. Out of 85 scholarship athletes, 56 are freshmen or redshirt freshmen. YOU WILL NOT WIN IN THE SEC ON A CONSISTENT BASIS with this type team, EVEN IF YOU'RE BOBBY PETRINO!!! Bama is still coming off the probation hangover, and that's the bottom line.

Shula need at least two more years, to let his young kids become seniors before he can be accurately judged, IMO.

Did he make some mistakes this year, probably. Every coach does.

He rescued your program when you needed him, and he deserves a fair shot to rebuild the program, IMHO.

The problem is the Bama teams get worse as the season goes on. Certain postion coaches need to be fired but they havnt been. Obvious things such as their S&C in the offseason are almost non existent. Shula doesnt address the off the field issues.

Actually, that's not the problem, just one of many symptoms of the real problem.

IMO, Bama is still a year away from flushing the aftereffects of the sanctions. Bama's starters can hang with the SEC's best, but they still don't have the quality depth that allows for free substitution nor do they have the luxury of resting key players to allow nagging injuries to properly heal in time for the key opponents on their schedule.

They've played 12 straight games with no bye ....... now I don't care how good an 'ole coach ya' are, you're not gonna' beat fatigue and injuries in a league as tough and physical as the SEC.

The word around the water cooler is that Joe Kines has told Mal Moore that he's leaving if Shula remains. Seems they have some communications issues that have gone unresolved for quite some time, some of them surrounding the "favorable" treatment received by Juwan Simpson.

Besides, even if they decide to remove Shula, it doesn't solve the real problem. IMO, as long as Mal Moore is AD, Bama will remain stuck in the past as the game of CFB continues to move forward, farther and farther from where Bama needs to be.

That is interesting as it seems that something is brewing down in ttown.. I have several sources that are very attached to the pulse of the program saying that Mal is very upset with Shula's performance and is making a decision on what to do. I would not be surprised to see a change based on the flood of discontent. I do however think they are wrong based on the talent they have due to probation.
