For those that espouse this theory regarding the formation of our existence, I'd like to hear their answer...and that's an honest question...What was the force that caused the ball to roll hapharzadly and by chance to end up falling in our direction?

I'm not really a big fan of the debate...because I personally believe in Creationism, but how am I to know how God created the world??? Maybe God did use a sort of Big Bang to create the world, and how are we to know that our definition of day fits what God classified as a day???? Everybody has personal beliefs and ideas and I'm not so much a fan of trying to prove to someone that their ideas are wrong and mine or right and I personally don't like it when people try to do the same to me...everybody should just learn to accept the world for what it is, a huge blend of different cultures, ideals and beliefs.

Two universes in difference dimensions colliding... The universe is actually 7 dimensions, 4 of which we cannot yet experience because we don't have the mental capabilities. I dunno, it was something like that wI had to read about in Astronomy last year... I personally think it was a Universe collapsing in on itself and reforming - everything is a redo of a redo of a redo. Who knows which universe we're on right now. This has all happened before, but it all came to an end and started anew.

Oh, and there's that little theory about God floating around out there...

If we all sat around and sang Kumbaya, then nothing would get done. Science is done for science's sake and can lead us to better understand the things around us and further advance society. This particular debate may be one which can never be solved and dips curiously close to religion, but I see no harm in exploring the issue.

Er, no. Everybody should learn to make the world a better place, and part of that means getting rid of disadvantageous ancient superstitions.

I agree with this statement. I believe God created the world, but the method by which it was done is unknown. For all we know the Big Bang could have been the explosion of the Death Star.

    what ball?

big bang is just a theory, not an answer. the universe is expanding from a central point, so if you reverse time it would seem that the universe would contract into a point.

you magic-believing anti-science people need to keep in mind that big bang could be disproven tomorrow and it would be no big deal. nobody has reasonless faith in it. a theory can be changed as new evidence is discovered. i am no scientist, i really do not know if big bang is correct any more than if string theory is correct. scientists seem to have some good reasons from what i have read. but i have nothing invested in it.

nobody who is not an idiot will claim that big bang is a fact. it is only a theory.

they key is that lack of answers about the universe is something we should be able to accept without making up answers, and those who attempt to reconcile science with religion need to realize that the two things are entirely incompatible.
