Its an off week, we have a little time, so lets indulge ourselves a bit.

Define best pro career by most years at high quality performance level, maybe a shorter career but some all pro selections.

    My picks:

    - Johnny Robinson, safety, Kansas City 1960's. Perenial all pro in AFL. I think Johnny was voted one of the top all pro safeties of the 60's by sportswriters, regardless of the league. I think he got one super bowl ring in super bowl III.

    - Jimmy Taylor, running back, Green Bay, 1960's. Does any ex-Tiger have more NFL championships (4)? Hardest runner ever out of LSU, in the pros?

    - Y A Tittle (sp?), QB, Giants, long career, got to NFL title game.

    - Tommy Casanova, cornerback, Bengals, 1970's, went to pro bowl almost every year as a pro, short career because he went back to med school. For top quality career, probably the best ever ex Tiger in the pros???

    - Bert Jones, QB, Colts (Balt.?). Short career, got colts to AFC championship game but lost it. I watched that game and Bert exuded confidence all day long. Late in the game, needing a touch, the camera's focused on Jones in the huddle, big grin on his face! Totally into the game, focused on winning. He was like a 6th grader in terms of his enjoyment. A beautiful sight. Colts got the touch but lost the game. I think Bert was voted all pro a few times.

    Let's hear your picks!

Is this limited to football only? Cause I believe Shaq should be pretty high on that list.

In current NFL, I'd have to go with Booger McFarland.

Eric Andolsek-who knows what might have been?

Kevin Mawae-Still getting it done, I believe.

Carlos Carson-Excellent receiver for the Chiefs, toiled in relative obscurity due to some subpar teams, but widely recognized among his peers.

Greg LaFleur-Nice career at TE for St. Louis.

AJ Duhe-Played in 2 Super bowls for the Dolphins.

Greg Jackson-Super Bowl winner with the Giants.

Who is it playing on the OL for the Steelers? I feel stupid now, his name escapes me, but he's among the tops in the NFL right now.

    DOH!-Alan Faneca--I should read before I reply.

I know his name is on the Tennis Complex but Mr. Robinson only went to LSU 1 year then he went to Northeast Louisiana University aka ULM.

Yes he was voted one of the best football players in the NFL he has a picture of that in his office. Actually I believe it was All Kansas City Chief Team.

I dont think we should stake a claim to players that went to another school to finish. He is probably one of the greatest if not the greatest football player to ever play for NLU.

You're confusing All American football player Johnny Robinson and long-time Tennis coach Dub Robinson, aren't you.
