What is this talk about justice from Annan and Blix all of a sudden?? link link2 Maybe they are seeing how confident Blair is getting. sfgatelink Add Iran to those wanting Justice in regards to Saddam although I think they think they are going to hurt the US. Iran link
Kofi Annan is basically the moderator of an irrelevant debating society. Hans Blix is a delusional loser who has failed at everything he's ever tried, and is continually seeking to keep his 15 minutes alive...hence the fact that he's yet to meet a camera or microphone he doesn't like. Both of these men are as anti-American as they come. I generally give what these two putzes say about anything it's due attention, and then turn to the important stuff in the paper...the comics section.
The United Nations is an entity that was created by America that has never been paid attention to by America, that is funded and underfunded-all at the same time-by America, and one that will cease to become a viable entity if America were ever to just say, "Screw you,". Anan has an unenviable task no matter what he does, as the UN is a seriously liberal organization with its power totally DERIVED by the surrender of the one true commodity that any nation-first or third world-has regardless of economy or natural resources...Their soverignty. The organization will never work unless all countries equally cede certain aspects of their sovreignty and refuse to reclaim it no matter the situation. The United States has never, is never, and never even contemplated agreeing to this. Without your biggest contributor, your host country, and the biggest kid on the block in your corner, how are you truly going to have any power? The only thing that's happening to the UN is that the US is tiring of it. In 1991, we all knew that the UN had for a long time been merely a mouthpiece of Pro-American sentiment, and followed what we did to a T. Since then, the only thing that's changed is the Presidency (twice)... The UN thought that the United States would "abide" by it not even bothering to listen to its own Resolutions, rules, and edicts it issued out at Hussein. The United States did not bother to sit and wait and wring its hands any longer in terms of Iraq. They had been in breach of resolutions authorizing force for YEARS, not months or weeks. No one will acknowledge that, but Google UN Resolution 1441, and it will specifically bring you to the document in question, and cross reference the other two Resolutions written YEARS before 1441 that authorize-as well as 1441 did-the use of force to compel Hussein to either comply with UN demands or face regime change. We simply did what the UN thought we would not do: Hold them accountable for their actions by holding Iraq accountable for their actions. The United States just did the job the UN pulled a Pontius Pilate on the rest of the world. We had to do its dirty work. We did, and if no one likes it, phooey on them.
Wait, isn't the important stuff Laci, Kobe, and Jacko? I bet if Jacko had skipped off to Mexico while W was having the press conference regarding Saddam's capture, both Fox & CNN would have cut away to Jacko.
LOL, good one!! I wish I had the money to start my own network. My two main policies would be: 1) All news coverage would be REAL news. No celebrity trials, no Paris Hilton, no Bennifer. 2) I'd pay the SEC whatever it took to get first choice on games each week. Then I'd ALWAYS take the LSU game and make it a night game.
