Said they always have been and always will be the runt of the SEC. I thought it was kind of harsh, especially considering how hard they played. I stated in several posts leadining up to the game that OM should know their place. They are a middle of the pack SEC team that will always be an LSU/Auburn/Bama wanna-be. They will never move to the head of the class because they are Ole Miss. In my opinion, after an appearance in maybe the Peach bowl this year, OM will return to their normal Indy Bowl form at best. But it is one thing for me to say that on a message board as a partisan LSU fan, but another thing entirely for Alberts to pile on like that. As much as many on this board have a fervent hate for trev, OM fans must be ready to lynch him.
I saw his comments. He went waaaaay out of his way to slam Ole Miss in that segment. He started by talking about how he grew up on a farm and raised pigs etc. I thought that he was leading up to slam LSU re the upcoming game with the Hogs. If I was an OLE Miss fan ( and I'm not) I would be pissed. Completely uncalled for, Alberts was really showing his @ss on that one. I have no respect for any of the ESPN crew.
ESPN has had a hard-on against LSU (and the South) for as long as I can remember....who woulda thunk it? A 30 year hard-on over media share.....:dis:
Mixed feelings !! To be honest I have to agree with the "runt" characterization. That's why I get upset when the Tigers don't swat the Rebs away easily. We always have so much more talent than they do !! On the other hand, I can't honestly say that they are runts because they DO play us so close. In a way, to call them runts is to call us "just better than runts".
