This used to be a game that was always close...every year a nailbiter. But not anymore. Both teams come in with high expectations but it's been a blood bath lately. Check it out: 1988: LSU, 7-6 1989: AU, 10-6 1992: AU, 30-28 1993: AU, 34-10 1994: AU, 30-26 1995: LSU, 12-6 1996: LSU, 19-15 1997: AU, 31-28 1998: LSU, 31-19 1999: AU, 41-7 2000: AU, 34-17 2001: LSU, 27-14 2002: AU, 31-7 2003: LSU, 31-7 The last six games, it's been at least a two TD win for one or the other team. Seven of the eight ones before this were all nip and tuck, with an average margin of victory of 3.4 points. Strange.
LSU 31/AU 7 Nip and tuck my happy, female behind. We rocked your world and did it leaving no doubt. We are the true TIGERS and have, by the way, the BEST coach!! GO TIGERS Smoked any cigars lately? HA HA HA
Titan, I figured you bring up about last year. I know how you feel. When the shoe was on the other foot, all I could do was think of other years. I believe this rivalry is a good one.
It is a good series. Lots of intensity. I'm just surprised at how the scores have become the last 6 meetings. We don't seem to have close games anymore. One of the teams gets run off the field instead.
Another interesting statistic... Since we got rid of our bargain basement coaches, LSU's won 5 of the last 9 meetings...
