1. In the ut game Les Miles TRIED to call a time out after an interception.

Last night, before 2 different kicks, Les Miles TRIED to call a time out and was ignored. I have never seen a coach make such an effort to call a time out and be so disregarded. He was out on the field screaming for attention and the officials wouldn't give him the time of day.

Did someone revoke his rights to make this type of decision?
  2. Who knows?
I don't understand why a coach would call a to after an interception.
I certainly don't understand why we didn't go with the wind in ot.
I wasn't at the game so maybe their was a better reason?

Beyond that, I don't know why the to's didn't happen?
  3. He never made the timeout signal with his hand, and it was loud...perhaps the officials thought he was just trying to communicate with the players somehow. I think he believed Auburn would gain at least 10 yards or so on the ground (hell..why Tubby didnt run their iron horse who had 200+ who knows)...so a 32 yard field goal into a 10mph wind was no big deal. The crowd would have helped us the closer he got to scoring, unlike the wind.
  4. The only person who he has to tell is the line judge on your sideline.....don't need a hand signal.

    Other than that...who knows?
  5. he was trying to ice the kicker with a to. Its not a "les miles" thing. Any coach would have tried to call a to right there with 3 seconds in the game. Cant bring the to's home with you after regulation so might as well use them and try to ice the kicker.
  6. The question isn't why (though against ut I would ask why) he tried to call a TO, but rather why he has such a problem in getting it done. The noise is a factor I didn't consider, he was so far out on the field trying to get SOMEONE's attention. Maybe he needs to pipe his mike into the PA system (sarcasm), but this is going to cost you in an adverse way one day.
  7. I figured it was to make Auburn play at the student end of the stadium.
  8. I'd take the noise over the wind anyday when you starting out on your 25 yard line. If we started on the 35 or 45 it would be a different story.
