    Rose
    Sugar
    Orange
    Fiesta

    But first the automatics get assigned before anyone picks.

    Rose = USC
    Sugar = SEC ??????? (up in the air about Florida making the championship game)
    Orange = Wake Forest
    Fiesta = Big 12

    Scenario 1:

    BCS CG: Michigan vs. Ohio State
    Rose replaces its Big 10 champ first
    They already have USC assigned. So they then pick LSU (if Florida doesn't make the BCS CG). I think this is approaching about a 90 percent chance of happening with all the talk going on about LSU being in over Notre Dame.

    Scenario 2:

    BCS CG: Ohio State vs. Florida
    Rose picks its Big 10 Champ replacement
    95 percent sure they pick Michigan over LSU to play USC
    (Note: they are NOT obligated to pick Michigan, since Michigan is not the Big 10 champ, but surely they would)
    Sugar picks a replacement for its SEC Champ going to the BCS CG.
    Sugar then picks again as the rotation starts over (Rose has no picks to make).
    I think they pick Notre Dame and LSU.

    For this year

    If NC = Mich OSU, then 1st automatic slots are filled:

    Rose - USC
    Fiesta - Ok/Neb winner
    Sugar - Fl/Ark winner
    Orange - Wake

    then Rose gets 1st pick because it lost OSU
    Next is Sugar, Orange, Fiesta

    If NC = OSU Fl, then auto slots are:

    Rose - USC
    Fiesta Ok/Neb winner
    Orange - Wake

    then Rose gets 1st pick because it lost OSU
    Sugar gets 2nd pick because it lost Fl

    Then Sugar, Orange, Fiesta

    I believe islstl is a little off with scenario 2 - Sugar would get back to back picks and would likely be ND/LSU

    I just read the BCS rules again, and yes you are correct the Sugar picks back to back in that case.

    I corrected my post.

    Thanks.

    Why do we assume LSU gets picked for the Sugar over Arkansas? I think its a real probability that they take UA to generate more multi-night hotel bookings for the city. We end up in CapOne.

    We're going to the Rose, Florida gets shafted and goes to Sugar. They don't care about what is right.

    LSU will be top 4 in the bcs after the usc loss, at least they should be. Top 4 = automatic qualifier. Besides, who wants Arkansas?
