What is "Rich"?

    I have only used that argument on my children about their allowance.

    Of course not, but many people's pay is - it's not typical for a position, but is quite common for what a person actually adds to an organization.

    I'm not most people. If I was making $15k more than I am now (in the same position), my pay would clearly be too high - not that I don't think I'm worth it, but the position's value to the company is just not that high. Would I accept that pay? Not without a corresponding amount of responsibility.

    And I'm sure you aren't the only one. What I bring to the table isn't a fit for every organization.

    personally, I think I'm overpaid for what I do.
    especially considering the peanuts I got paid for some of my past jobs.

    But they do know if they are above the curve or below it. If one is WAY above the curve, he wonders and everyone wonders if he is worth it.
