    looks kinda like one of those grill adjustment thingys off a hibachi ... but not as thick.

    This object is still manufactured and used. I believe that aluminum versions exist as well as iron. A similar object exists in nylon, but it works differently.

    It is not.

    We have a Bissell carpet sweeper. It's in storage right now, but it has a tool that looks pretty much identical to that. It is used to clean the brushes of the carpet sweeper. Any similar use for this tool?
