espn has some projections of toledo or marshall going to the indy bowl. I got season bowl tickets b/c SEC and 12 matchups. i wanted to see Lou Holtz last bowl game but that ain't happening. who would be a good team (other than an SEC) to see in that bowl game.
How about Boston College? Oh wait...they're going to be in the Sugar or Fiesta. :dis: :dis: :dis: Another distasteful byproduct of the BCS.
The Irish are 6-4 and are bowl eligible. CFN has them projected to play in the Insight Bowl in Phoenix against UCLA. Now if they could beat the Condoms this weekend their bowl stock might rise considerably.
If the sec cant make its committment, then the bowl is allowed to take whoever it wants.. usually an independent first.. then teams who are ellgible for a bowl but didnt make one in their conference... which can be nice cuz some of the unfilled bowls pay nice.
I would probably say Troy UAB So. Miss (if they win on Sat.) Ind. Bowl committee is going to pick someone fairly close that will bring fans to fill the stadium. It's all about the money.
Its disappointing that there will not be an SEC team in the Indy bowl this year. My dad, brother and I go to this game every year and cheer for the SEC team. It looks like Oklahoma State will be headed to Shreveport this year so we'll cheer for them since we are from Oklahoma.
If Notre Dame beats USC and SEC cant fill quota that would be a great game for the Indy Bowl. They always bring a crowd. I think the Independence Bowl always turns out to be one of the best bowl games for some reason. Hard fought and close. I have had the chance to see some of them when i am home for the holidays.
