what do you think would happen if usc beats ohio st. in the championship game and florida wins the sec next weekend and then beats whoever in the sugar bowl or some other bowl and win handedly. do you think they would have a split national championship like usc and lsu in 03? if so it would be sweet for usc to split it. just a thought.

No, it would have to be the other way around.

Switch Florida and USC in your scenario and then you have a legit what if.

USC beats Ohio St in the championship game they would be sole national champions. Just like LSU was in 03.

I agree... USC would be sole national champs. The BCS is the system we use, however disputed it may be. Anybody's personal poll is as legit as the AP Poll.

That scenario would work if USC beats UCLA by 1 or even loses by one and somehow maintains it's lead on Michigan. They then pull of a close one against Ohio St and only then do you have some begin to jump ship for a split.

An even more likely scenario would be a OSU/Mich rematch and Mich wins by 1-3. Might be enough discontent outr there to float a Florida into a split. None of this is likely though.
