Good point, I hadn't caught that.

Isn't that so often the best route. Even a fish wouldn't get caught if it kept its mouth shut.

    Convicted felons lose that right.

Don't even have to go that far- I wish people would understand that "Freedom of speech" is relative and not absolute. If you want to test my theory, just call grad a cock sucka.

Stacey passed judgment on her in-laws, calling them absolute mooches, or something like that, and saying that she resented them. Having a judge decide a case, when that judge has a personal interest in the case will always have the case retried. I don't get how all of you feel that Stacey is in the best position to make an objective judgment on a case that she has a personal and emotional interest in. Fortunately, the courts in the US don't work that way. All I'm trying to do is promote objectivity in the Stacey vs. the In-laws case. I honestly don't get how any of you do not understand that, except for the fact that you guys are loyal to your friends, and think its a good idea to side with them even if their opinion might be harmful to themselves. I honestly believe Stacey would be better off not hating her in-laws, and I honestly believe Stacey's husband would be better of not hating his own blood family. I'm sorry my opinion is bizarre to you people. It's not black and white. Sure, there are cases when someone has to hate their own family, but those cases are very serious, and should be taken very seriously.

What exactly is the "good point" that TheDude raised here? Here's the conversation he is referring to:

I don't reply to him, I drop it.

How does what TheDude is saying make sense to anybody here?

Are you on crazy pills? When did a judge enter this discussion?

She relayed a story about her family to indicate the mindset of people that expect a handout. You know, the welfare system? She also personalized it to show that not everyone that abuses handouts are the black, alcoholic, drug induced, 3 children having people example that you gave us.

She is an infinitely better position than anyone here, most especially you.

You say you want objectivity, but you pass judgment without hearing both sides. Do you ever plan to acknowledge this???? As to being her friend, I do not personally know her and am not taking her side. I am merely pointing out the fallacy in your ridiculous ramblings. Not in being objective, which you aren't, but in passing judgment while claiming to be objective.

    Everybody here sees this John.

Why have you not acknowledged it?

Yes, we probably all agree that hate is undesirable and loving everyone would be much better. There is nothing bizarre about that. Do you actually read these responses to your posts, or just take them as an opportunity for more meandering comments with little or no relation to your original statements?

You assume that she has not taken them seriously.

Why do you insist on making such sweeping assumptions and bizarre generalizations?

Why don't you actually answer any of the points that have been made here???

And she gave specific examples which are enough to tell me that she's absolutely correct in saying what she said but it wasn't meant for disection.

We need to drop the "Stacey" talk- she was obviously venting, well apparently it wasn't so obvious to everyone. You're over the top here, let it go.

Tell us more about your situation so we can decide if you're right to feel that way- we can't accept that just cause the family is piling on this one poor member- I mean, we do have to hear the other side don't we?

Or we can get back to what you were seeking:
This thread shouldn't be locked, it should be deleted because of the turn it's taken. I know she didn't want all this crap discussion about her in-laws pasted everywhere. Quite frankly, it makes me uncomfortable.

I think this is the heart of the issue. John anointed himself as judge, which may have been inappropriate, but this is all being made into a much bigger issue than it is.

Let's just drop it & get back on the discussion of socialism.

A sensible suggestion, to be sure. Although I still equate John to a lava lamp...

Oddly enough, I am a big fan of the movie Bulworth, which features a politician turning from Republican to far-leaning liberal that even says, "Come on let me hear you say that dirty word, Socialism!" in the movie.

I do not so much agree with the politicians stances as I just enjoy the image of an honest politician.
