What can those of us in BR do to help. I don't have power -- using a friend's house now. What can we do for those in NOLA? Nagin says they need everything -- people in boats, food, fuel, etc. But they say we can't get in. Any practical ways ? Red Cross just wants money, but my body feels completely useless right now.
Is there a way in? Some of the people they show helping others with their boats, are not a part of any organization. Surely there is some way in. Have boat, Will travel.
Check the local media. They announced on channel 9 that there was a place where volunteers could go and and be assigned to help somewhere. I didn't catch the details, but I'm sure they will repeat it.
Since my servers were in N.O. there isn't a lot I can do at the office. My boss, in St Louis, said it was OK to take a few days off. I don't have the same channel nine. If anyone knows where to go let me know.
They were launching the boats from the 10/610 split, but with all the professional help coming in from around the country, I am not sure if they would want just anybody down there.
