We've talked about this is several threads, and yes, its the inconsistency. But we've talked about "where are the leaders". A lot of this is on the players themselves. I don't see a Glen Dorsey "leading" the defense, or a Hester/Flynn/Doucet leading the offense. There is a lack of leadership among the players themselves. We've suffered at QB, more than I thought we would to be true. But, I expected most of it. Coaching could be better. The D had looked confused at times.
i'd say J Lee feels about the same way toward some overweight, over the hill "fan" who feels better after booing and cursing him play after play yeah, me too the boys deserve what they get from their "fans"....right??? how dare they let you down and not let you live vicariously in their moment i'm sure all of the bitchin will help them play better.... i'm sure all of the neighborhood undersized dogs, scrawny cats, and old ladies tremble in fear of your awesomeness.....:nope:
I think the way we lost to 'Bama after putting together one of our finest and "complete" football games of the season got the players down. They obviously weren't over the disappointing loss last week to the Tide, but know this: Coaches aren't fans. They don't look back. They don't sulk. Fans sulk. Coaches want it fixed and in the nature of the business of coaching, you can BET that there is NO COACH in America that doesn't want/demand/motivate his players to forget about the last game and focus on the current one. Miles is no different. But we do have inexperienced players at important positions on the field. As a coach, there is only so much you can do to keep preaching "focus" and getting your team ready because ultimately, it's those players on the field that control everything. We came out EXTREMELY FLAT for 2 whole quarters. Kudos to Miles and staff for getting the mindset of the players straight and back on track. And kudos to the players for believing in themselves and in heeding the coaching staff's adjustments at halftime.
funny that you took what I posted to mean you specifically, shoe must fit. i never booed a player not once. booing is alot different than discussing in a forum. BTW. be sure to introduce yourself and be certain I know its you if you ever see me at a game scrawny cat. something tells me your a nipple boy when you arent at the keyboard. :dis:
Yeah for all the crap Miles gets, one thing for sure he doesnt give up. He does seem to have persepective in his post game talks. Sometimes he says stuff that makes better sense than when it played out on the field.
That some of our fans call for coaches to be fired when this team is 7-3 . Looking at a bowl game and a great future. Winning can sometimes bring unrealistic expectations. People forget we are weak at a few positions this year. QB is the most important position on your team bar none. When your qb is struggling your team is struggling. One of the things that hurts me the most when i look back is how Charley Mac was treated. This man dedicated his life to teaching life through football and was damn good at it. But it wasnt enough for alot of fans. They wanted undefeated every year. Be carefull what you wish for people because i love the fact we have a coach that cares about honor, and charachter, and life just as much as he does football. I didnt even go to LSU but i have a love for my home state university that i carry with me wherever i go. Some of my best memories in my life are me, my dad, and brother laying in front of the radio listening to LSU games with John Ferguson calling em. What bothers me most is i forget how much these guys put it on the line for their state, school, and fans and how to thank them for their enjoyment they bring.
I hope you do not think My comment was in any way directed toward you.... I was just speaking in general... and I have told many people to there faces that they arent true fans.... for instance my cousin is the first to call me when LSU loses and he will rant at how bad they are... and last year when they went to the Nat Champ he was decked out in Purple and gold... and that just makes me so mad... he is only a fan when they lose.... those are the types of people that aggravate me.... I in no way meant to offend you or your fan-nage.... if that is even a word... if you are offended... I am sorry... and Like you I earned my right to b(i)tch.... My family has had season tickets since the 60's and although I am only 23 I have been to countless games and sat thru many cold... wet... and losing games.... and I never gave up on them....
I was talking in general too. there are some people that tend to overdue that I am a better fan than you thing though if you know what I mean. yeah I hate when fans just thrive on losses. I enjoy talking football and I LOVE the Tigers, win or lose. Kudos for hangin in there as a fan. Bad times will come and go. We are enjoying a great time in LSU football right now. :geaux:
I'm not bothered, really. I expected a couple-a-three loses this year and though the big margins were hard to swallow I'm still excited about LSU football and especially the future. I am worried about this weekend's game though- Ole Miss is a serious threat and I'd love to win out and not have more than 3 losses. Still have confidence in Ma Man Miles.
