What are your experiences with these sections in Tiger Stadium?

Although I missed out on those damn season tickets yet again this year, I've managed to get some tickets for 4 games that I wanted to see (VT, Florida, and Arkansas... and the Tulane game). I'd have loved to catch the Auburn and SCar games but I have conflicting engagements that I can't get out of. I haven't really seen a game from some of the sections I'll be in and was wondering if yall could just give me an idea of what each area might be like (ie. atmosphere, general demographics maybe, view point, ability to hear the band, feeling as if your in or apart of the game or separated from it, etc..)

For VT I'm in 237 (it's one of the top sections in the north endzone a section or 2 over from the student section).

For Florida I'm in 421 I believe but possibly one section to either side of it. (It' s in the upper tier of the south endzone toward the west side. southwest corner if you will)

For Arkansas I'm in 301 (that's on like the 35 yardline near the north endzone on the east side, I assume that would mean a chair back)

Also, there's a chance I'll end up in one of the center sections in the east upper a few rows behind the chair seats for the Florida game. How would that compare to 421?

yea, i've looked at that. I guess I was wondering more about the atmosphere of the various places than the view. For instance, I've been in some sections where everyone would stand and there seemed to be an unwritten rule that it was ok to curse and yelling was pretty much encouraged (that's my kinda section), and I've been in sections where I've heard "down in front!" or you could basically feel the hate rays burning a hole in your back if you were standing (I half expected someone with a white towel over their arm to come by and serve us champaign).

I'll be perfectly honest here, I get a fun buzz going before the game and once at the game I like to feel right at home about standing (doesn't have to be every play but I've been known to do that too), making noise, giving opposing fans a hard time (in a tastefully humorous way, not to the point where they go home and tell everyone about this one LSU guy), and of course every now and again I let an obscenity slip when someone does something boneheaded on the field (ok, I probably would have been asked to leave if I was at last years Florida game ). It goes without saying I like being surrounded by like minded fans.

Then you need to get as far away from the South/SouthWest corner as possible. :)

The tickets we have been getting were there and I vowed not to go back unless it was on the North end - I go nutts and I like it loud as possible (Okay, maybe I'll have a change of heart).

311 and student sections in the house! One is the best view in the stadium, the other is the most rowdy. Take your pick.

My advice: The season ticket holder sections can get loud and rowdy, everybody does get up for big plays, and drinks are prepared. . . . but it ain't the student section. Many have sat in their section for decades and they will defend it from overly obnoxious single-game ticket holders who come in and try to make their own rules.

    1. The old farts don't stand the whole game and you will be told to sit the F down.

    2. Making noise endlessly when nothing special is going on will get you told to shut the F up.

    3. Discrete addition of some anti-freeze to your soda is not a problem. But drunken behavior, staggering, rudeness or spilling your drink will get you pointed out to the cops who will drag you away.

    4. Projectile vomiting . . . you can imagine.

    5. There are kids in the regular sections. Lots of them. Irate fathers will threaten to kick your ass if the profanity is over the line.

    6. The Security guards and cops are mostly "zero tolerence" in the civilian sections, but a little more laid back in the student section. They have indignant, surcharge-paying citizens to protect.

These are Tiger fans, many of whom have done their days in the student section. They are spirited. But many have seen 30 or 40 years of Tiger football and they just don't experience orgasmic thrills at every first down anymore. Their old knees force them to sit most of the time. They don't like somebody yelling "Goooo Tigers" in their ear for the whole game.

The sidelines are very conservative, fairly wealthy, and have the older patrons. The south endzone has a lot of really spirited blue-collar fans and some sections are loud, but not rowdy, drunken, and profane. The north endzone is laid-back and where a lot of LSU employees and retirees are seated. They are very tolerent of the rowdy students in the neighboring sections, but far less so with rowdy individuals in their sections.

That being said, every season-ticket section has a few of its own long-time boisterous types who get away with it because they've paid their dues for 20 years and shared their liquor.

Watch out, coramprat is known to roam in that area, very nice, can hear the band. My favorite area is directly below there, around the top of 208 I suppose.

Probly won't be able to hear the band, I've always thought the seats in south upper were much narrower than anywhere else. I had season tickets in 417 (formerly SU15) for about 6 years. The worst thing was having someone's knees in your back and having your knees in the next persons back, of course I'm not a small guy.

Very nice, probly the best seats of the season for you. Directly across from the band, QB's will be warming up right in front of you. I'm in 303. We're in the stadium long before anyone else. I usually jump the wall into the north endzone and watch the band come down the hill from the top concourse.

The east upper would be much better, imho. Seats are wider, better view, if you have decent vision. Concessions/restrooms are better also. The sun will be in your eyes though.

I had season tickets in East Upper on the 45 yard line for a few years just behind the chair backs and it was great. You could hear the band, the fans were like what red described (but that is pretty much my preference). I think that those are the best seats in the house for the price if you enjoy watching the game (as opposed to just getting drunk and yelling like an idiot). When you first get there, you feel like "whoa, I am far away from the action". But by the time the game starts, it feels like you are right on top of it. You sort of get sucked in. :thumb:

I sit in 301. That section does not extend to the 35 yardline. It's great to have the band playing right at you. If your seats are in upper part of the bowel, there is a guy that shows up every game with a case of champagne poppers. He throws them to everyone to have for the national anthem.
Overall the seats are good provided you aren't too high or too low.LSU!
