What about Brent Venables d.c. at University of Oklahoma? Bob Stoops prodigy that is one of the best young minds in college football today. Would be the type of coach that would be here for the long haul. Outstanding recruiter was very instramental in landing many of the 5 star recruits that O.U. has today. Including Andrian Peterson!
Sorry, but you can't have him. He's waiting in line to take Stoops place one of these days. Seriously, he will make someone a great head coach. If Stoops were to leave, he would be my first choice to replace him. Incredible guy!
Have you ever heard the guy talk? During a sugar bowl interview, he didn't sound too intelligent. Plus he's only been DC for one year, and he had help from the guy from nebraska this year. I'd take Muschamp over him, but I want an established head coach.
Don't recall the interview that you are referring to. I've seen him speak several times. I don't doubt his intelligence. He's a very articulate guy. He's been Co-Defensive coordinator at OU for the past 6 years. Glad you're not interested. :grin:
Shame I played for the guy for four years. And I can assure you he is one of the best coaches out there. very smart. great x's and o's guy. as well as a great recruiter. And if you dont have great players you are not going to win. No matter who you have for a head coach! Peabody's post got it right, he will be a great head coach for someone soon. To bad if its not L.S.U.
Not saying he will not make a good head coach one day just that LSU doesn't need to gamble on such an unproven commodity.
Good Point You have a good point! Really you do! just coming off the national championship and all. But I have two words for you Bob Stoops!!!! Oklahoma took that chance, and They will be playing for there 3rd National Champioship in 6 years since he got there. Not to mention being in the bcs bowl's 4 out of 6 years! Trust me they are very much alike.
