Just to be clear, in case I wasn't earlier, I was refering to the fact that I hate the Yankees, Notre Dame, Miami, Cowboys, 49ers. Not that I was a fan of there's. My favorite teams are: Saints in NFL, Braves in Baseball, Hornets in the NBA, and LSU in college anything :)

    Level of hatred:

    1. New York Yankees (maybe because its freshest)
    2. Notre Dame (way too many special privilages)
    3. Dallas Cowboys (way too much of a Louisiana fan base and I hate the label of "America's Team" as if every American should love them or something)

While I'm glad Soriano caught the ball I was glad to see how well Todd Walker played not only in the ALCS but in the division series against Oakland. Walker has always been rapped for his defense but he came up with several outstanding defensive plays in the playoffs. Maybe he will end up in pinstripes in a couple of years and the Yanks can move Soriano to the outfield.

If the Yankee players had just gone through the motions they wouldn't be still playing today while the Dead Sox are making their winter vacation plans. Everybody is always bitching about Steinbrenner buying the pennant but other teams owners spend just about as much as he does to aquire free agent talent. The Sox spent many millions of $$ to get Pedro Martinez, Manny Ramirez and Johnny Damon. Sure, the Yanks spent a lot for the Rocket, the Moose and Jason Giambi but the Yankees farm system is the best in the business. Andy Pettite, Derek Jeter and Alphonso Soriano are all products of the Yankees minor league affilitates. As far as Steinbrenner I'm sure he can be an asshole to work for but he has gone out of his way to help former players and employees. He fired Billy Martin 5 times but he also hired Billy Martin 5 times. He publically critisized Reggie Jackson when he played for the Yankees but Jackson chose to enter the Hall of Fame wearing a Yankee cap and Reggie still hangs around the Yankee clubhouse. Steinbrenner has guaranteed a job for life in the Yankee organization to Darryl Strawberry if Strawberry will get his act together and kick his drug problems. Would I want to work for Steinbrenner? Hell No. Would I want to be an ex employee of Steinbrenners who he still likes? Hell Yes.

A couple of years ago when Pudge was still with the Rangers Sports Illustrated did a story on him with lots of pictures of Pudge living it up at his home in south Florida. I'm sure he had a residence in the Dallas area when he played for the Rangers but does he consider Dallas of Florida his home now?

The Yankees have great coach in Joe Torre. Although he also has very good players. I like the Yankees. Too Bad Dark Hornet has such a level of hate for anything or anyone!

I was obviously rooting hard for the Red Sox but it's kind of cool how it adds to the mystique of the rivalry. I told myself I didn't believe in curses after we finally beat Bama in Tiger Stadium but this one is hard to ignore. It must be tough to be a Sox fan, especially because they're close so often. I guess the ghosts showed up like they always do when you call for 'em.

Always looking for that underdog, so gotta go with the fish. Pudge is a lock for the Hall if they win the series. His playoff run is the beginning of legendary status (if he can finish it off) and because it's against the Yankees. I wish the AL would drop the DH, it just doesn't make sense. Pitchers can intimidate without fear of stepping up to the plate. That's not baseball.
