just wait until the North Texas game... Honestly, he has NO idea how it feels to be a Tiger... man, just wait. I hope he'll be able to keep his composure... lol
When he comes down victory hill with the team (that's not usually to jaw dropping) then gets the game day experince with the band and fans I can't wait to hear his first post game interview. Surely the question will come up. When those first four notes or played in tiger stadium to signal the beginning of the season "OH MY" will be his repeated phrase. Note to Les Miles. Stay in the direction LSU is going and it only gets louder.
I dont care who you are when you see the band come down before the game and they play to the crowd it sends shivers down your spine. Their is no way to not feel alive. You gotta cherish moments like that. Living in California i dont get to go to too many LSU games but when i do i take in all the sounds and cherish every second . I can close my eyes and even now take myself back to watching the players walk down and then the band and hearing the crowd go nuts. It is a feeling inside that goes to your soul. That is why when you become an LSU fan it isnt just about pulling for LSU it becomes part of your soul and you carry that with you no matter where you are. My wife bought me one of those LSU bottle openers and sometimes i just get it and make it go and i get that tingle hearing it play. She thinks i am nuts.
I hope I will be able to watch it on PPV here in Florida!!!!! I can't wait to see his face as he runs onto the field with the team for the first time.
You are SO TOTALLY CORRECT!!! :thumb: Come every fall, I beat myself up inside for ever coming to the conclusion that living in Boston would be fun (though, it generally is for the rest of the year)..... I can't WAIT to move back down south (fiance' and I will be doing just that this coming spring, after our wedding), and even though it's going to be Atlanta as our destination, being back in the south will afford me more opportunities to attend LSU games than the one-per-year that I've had to settle on since I've been in the northeast.
Les Miles came to one of our first practices as the 2005 Tiger Band, and he told us how much he had heard about us... Everywhere he goes. It made all of us so proud to be part of something so great. We hear it all the time, but it still gives a great feeling of pride. He said he had never heard (or seen) Pregame before and probably never will.... so we played it for him and his family. We saw him yesterday on the field talking to reporters. We wondered if he heard us running down the hill. (One of our traditions is to practice it without telling the new freshmen that we start running, its great to see the confusion...:hihi: ).. We had to practice in the stadium on the other end of the student section (the mirror of our normal spot) because of the construction... Seriously, the support we get from everyone is appreciated more than any of you know. How many other football teams will let the band use an indoor football field for practices... for an ENTIRE week and every gameday? We know that every band in the SEC strives to be like one: LSU. We are the model of excellence and we are told that frequently. Certain things can never be forgotten. Being a member of the Golden Band From Tigerland is one of those things.
