So the rumor coming out of Saban’s first Spring press conference is that Webster & Prude will be running at WR some in the spring due to a lack of numbers there. Amp Hill not all the way back.
Who is the guy who always posts on here about Amp Hill being his close friend. If you are here, please give us an update on Amp's progress...
What the heck is taking amp so long to rehab. I thought he just strained his knee? Was it really an ACL problem? It was such a stupid injury b/c someone just fell on his knee... Does anyone have access to the media conference that Saban gave that cna verify the rumor?
Saban Spring Press Conference I watched the first part of it. Didn't catch anything on Hill, but he did say that Webster and Prude started at WR before switching to DB and would see some practice time at WR although they were staying on D. Compared the situation to Clayton practicing at DB last year. Also said to expect to see Addai line up all over the place on offense to see if they can find a spot to help him contribute more. And he made it very clear that he had no idea who would be the starting QB and that he expected to get asked 49 times (20 spring practices and 29 fall practices) but that no matter what the press asked, wrote or what controversy that they started or whatever, he'd tell them who the starter was as soon as he knew. He did say "heir apparent" when speaking of Randall, but that the 2 freshman were very talented and would be given an oppurtunity to compete. That's all I really remember. I didn't listen to the second half of it after the first half was 100% coach speak. Oh, he did recognize all the other LSU programs that were having good seasons.
Here I am. As I posted before, Amp is back to running full speed but he is still a little weak on his cuts. He is going to be ready to go for the spring game. He did not sprain his knee. He tore his ACL and had to have surgery and he was crutches for a while.
DD says he has 'reliable' sources that say Amp will be ready to go when practice rolls around. I hope Addai can contribute more this year, he runs really hard...looks like a wildabeast crossing a crocodile-filled African river when he runs - full speed, legs thrashing, head down, bowling over anything in his way.
I would love to see Addai lined up at WR this season. Anybody know his speed in the 40? I know everybody remembers the fantastic block in the sugar bowl he made on Skyler's TD run. How about having another Clayton at wideout in terms of his downfield blocking skills? Would be nice.
he ran a 4.4 in high school but that was a HS time. so take it for what its worth. The early word is that Arkansas could sign as many as two quarter-backs in next year’s recruiting class and at least one is expected tobe a mobile run-pass quarterback. If that is the case, one canexpect Arkansas to look hard at Houston (Texas) Sharpstown’s Joseph Addai (6-2, 195, 4.4). Addai is a left-handed quarter-back who has been compared to Virginia Tech’s Michael Vick by many observers. As a junior, Addai completed 98-of-178 passes for 1,227 yards and 12t ouchdowns. He also ran for 1,492 yards on 151 carries.Addai is expected to draw heavyrecruiting attention from Nebraskaand all the other major colleges that recruit Texas.
