We need to keep getting the ball to David Jones

We throw it to him twice on the first drive and we have success, after that we stop throwing him the ball?!?

The Tight End has been one of the biggest mysteries of the Jimbo offense. On the very very rare occasion we throw to the TE we have great success, but never give the TE an occasional throw throughout the game. Once the TE makes his one or two catches the D can quit covering him because his day is done.

You're right. I like Jones' ability and with our passing game not up to par yet, we should be going with mismatches involving Jones and either a slower LB or an undersized DB.

Kevin Steltz and Jacob Hester are listed as FB's.

We have 3 FBs on scholarship, Steltz, Jordan and Hester. Steltz only blocks and the other 2 do not see time.

:) Sorry. I didn't pick up on the sarcasim.

I'll agree with the lack of use out of our FB these past few years. Not since Tommy Banks was here, do I recall having a FB utilized in the offense.

Steltz is purely a blocking back--just look at that MOOSE!!!! Hester, however, could develope into a pass-catching FB in the future.

I say put Hester back there and start throwing him the ball. The guy is a great athlete and I think he could be a weapon. We also need to throw to the damn tight end more. If you send a tight end out on a route he is open almost every time. C'mon Jimbo, get your head out of your arse.

Yeah and it's not just this year

We've played 3 games. Our QBs are green and the play calling is, of necessity, conservative. Yesterday was our 1st loss in the last 11 and our 2nd of the last 15. Did Jimbo wake up yesterday suddenly less of a coach than he was for the last year?
Veritas' question about the Tight End was a very good one. I'd like to hear the answer. But not from fans because they don't know enough to have the answer.

As soon as you get Saban and Fisher to come on the board and answer questions I am sure we will be all ears, or eyes in this case. But until then we are just a group of fans starving for talk of LSU sports that have found a great forum to express our opinions, hear others opinions and discuss everything LSU. If only the coaches had opinions you wouldn't have over 6,000 posts and still counting. We will very often disagree but everyone here has an opinion and the more that express their opinion the more fun this board will be.
