Just wanted to let you know that I'm very excited to attend next week's Miami/LSU game. I was a student at Miami back in 1986 and have been kicking myself for not making the game. Since then I've followed LSU football religiously and have tremendous admiration for the program. I've been told (and expect to find) that this is THE best place in the country to watch college football. I'm just hoping that Miami will keep it a close with you big cats! Can anyone give some advice as to places to go, things to see while in Baton Rouge?
Things to do in BR at LSU Bring an appetite. Eat pretty much anywhere and its better than where you came from. I like Drusilla's, but I'm web footed. Get to the valley early for all the pageantry. The band and Mike, and those Golden Girls, the football game ain't bad either. You can't park near the stadium unless you're rich or one of the Marcello families flunkies. If you get sick don't worry; Acadian will make you sicker at an exorbitant fee. The best advice is drink a quart of tiger piss, park anywhere you want and walk to the stadium. After a quart of tiger piss you won't feel your legs anyway. Enjoy the game, I might suggest a terry cloth robe for new comers. Our Sauna is open year round and it doesn't matter where you sit. G E A U X T I G E R S !!!!!
Sarranos and Chimes are close to Campus and are always fun for pregame festivities. For parking, depends and where you are staying and how fast you want to get there after the game. We usually park as close to Highland, Dalrymple, Indian Mounds as possible, then after the game is over we shoot straight out by the lakes and we are home in 30 min. Post game festivities, well, you can always return to Serranos or Chimes (remember your car is close by and it will take you forever to move it anyway). We also will visit Zippy's, Georges, or Ivars on Perkins road, they can be quite fun. Anyway, enjoy your trip and GEAUX TIGERS!!!
