Saban messed up on the game vs iowa tho....we had that game...i think we didnt deserve to win if we can stop about 80 yds in 43 secs. we can stop that!!!! i mean cmon. well....post yalls opinions plz....i want yalls ideas and opinions.cmon fans respond!!!!!:lsug: :champs:

    Not a good Idea

This was not a good hire. He will change things that don't need to be fixed. Defense will suffer.

I like him as the selection...we are just bitching because we are ultra concerned about our Defense because we know a top 20 defense ( "good") will not cut it when trying to contend for SEC and NC titles...other than the concern about Defense, i am very pleased with him

  5. Right now I am not real enthused with this hire. But, I havent watched the conference yet and had my hopes up for a big name replacement with better than a 28-21 record. Hopefully things will work out.

Like what? The offense? His style offense is exaclty what would fit us here! Did you see what his offense was able to do last year when they had an All-American WR (Rashaun Woods), and good QB and a dominant backfield (Tatum Bell, Morancy and Shaw)???

Clay as DC will be his hardest sell. But I clearly think that if OSU had defensive players of LSU's caliber, they're a top-25 defense even with Bill Clay calling the shots.

Are you being negative just for the sake of it? No where in your post did you give examples of the things that lead you to your point of view. Or is it that you're just sour because LSU didn't hire the coach that YOU wanted to see as our next head coach???

I think it was a decent hire. He hasn't proved himself enough for me. Winning an avg. of 7 games means nothing. So you beat your out of conference opponents but lost half of your conference games...big deal.

Also for all the people that say he has done just as much as Nick Saban did, the choice to hire Nick Saban was coming off a 3 win season I believe. You can take those risks after you win 3 games. Coming into a situation like that your most likely not going to fail. As long as you can win 4 games you still did better. We are coming off a recent National Championship and another Jan 1 bowl game.

For the positives...I like the emotion he really brings to the table. He seems to love college football a lot. I find that really important in a coach. He isn't that bad of a recruiter, and he does well with what he has. His offense recently has produced a great wide reciever(woods) and 2 outstanding running backs. If he can put together a good defensive staff he will be successful.

I don't really think it will take too much of a coach for this team to be 9-2. The talent is endless. This team has a great chance at being 11-0. I'm looking at a 10-1 season and a BCS bowl game. I will support him no matter what.

    Overall grade: B

I think he will do great things with offense. I also like his mentality and his style of coaching and mentoring the players. My only concern is the defense. I am hoping he keeps Muschamp on board. I know Saban called the majority of the plays on defense but I find it hard to believe that Will did not learn anything in the past 5 years.
