I know I was getting really pissed off this weekend watching the important games and having commentators who didn't even know the significance of there own games.

Why is it that people like me, islstl, and Tejas and a few others here know more about the BCS than these commentators.

The Notre Dame game at least they knew that a ND win was good for USC and a Syracuse win was good for us. The USC game the commentator pretty much gave USC the Sugar Bowl bid by beating Oregon State (as if that's an accomplishment), never understanding that the BCS was then in the hands of LSU.

Then the CBS commentators were saying LSU's National Title hopes are pretty much gone with that win by USC over Oregon State, not realizing we were given control at that point.

Why weren't they told of the possibilities and at least informed there audience with credible information.

Amen to that. Their only job is to know college football. If they dont want to do the research, at least be briefed before you open your pie hole vern lundquist. The thing is they now think it is b/c K state won why we have all this, but truth is USC was done either way.

    I dunno

Perhaps they were trying to convince themselves of it. The favoritism the press shows to USC is retarded. haha. Nice that they now have to eat their words.

    Re: I dunno

I think that could definitely be the case with the USC-Oregon State commentators.

The SEC Championship Game commentators were the ones who I was most offended by because they should have wanted the SEC Champ in there as much as us, so they should have known that the possibilty still existed.

To further Dark Hornet's disgust with the CBS crew Saturday night, those two idiots openly pulled for UGA 3/4 of the game (until it was obvious that we'd won.)

At one point, David Greene finally got off a decent-looking spiral (10 yards in front of the nearest receiver.) Todd said, "That's a great sign for Greene. I know it was an incompletion, but he got that pass off against this LSU defense. That should really worry the Tigers..." Right.

Both of them openly cheered UGA's big plays! They were noticeably excited, but very lukewarm to LSU success.

They should have been touting LSU for the national title, but the fact is: they were also pulling for USC.

And again, I figured out two things halfway through our game: 1) The KSU/OU game had no bearing on us, and 2) We were going to be in the Sugar Bowl.

All of the high-paid announcers should've known it. Why didn't they? Did they figure if no one said it, it wouldn't come true?

One note: Craig James looked like the cat that ate the canary after Syracuse won. HE knew.

Actually, the KSU/OU game did have bearing, but for the opposite reason most national media and USC fans think. KSU beating OU was the only way the Trojans could have gotten in. IF Oklahoma had been wedged between us and USC in the Human polls, USC would be in the Sugar Bowl.

Popular USC opinion is that Oklahoma losing is what got us in. Not true.

We didn't even listen to those morons, Stacey. We turned down the sound on the TV and listened to Jim call the game. Hawthorne
can cause you some anxious moments (and there's about a 2-3
second delay between his commentary and what you see on TV),
but at least he's a homer.
