With the LSU v. Miami matchup in Omaha this weekend most of us have been remembering that moment in 1996 - not that we wouldn't be thinking about it anyway. For those of us who haven't seen it in a while and for our new Hurricane friends on the forum who may want to relive the moment, here is a link to TAF's Greatest Moments - move the side bar to 1996 and enjoy the instant chills: The Shot Heard Round the South
I still remeber what I was doin when he hit it and I remember that before he came up to bat that he would hit one out. When he did hit it I remember I jumped about 10 feet in the air after I saw it go over the wall
When it happened I almost could believe it........ I jumped around my house for a good 5 minutes..... and then ran around outside.... btw......anyone know if there is a video link somewhere with the radio broadcast going on in the background?
I still remember where I was, too. I was riding down the interstate with my old girlfriend and her family in their motorhome. I thought we were going to crash because we were all jumping around and her dad was so excited while he was driving. People driving by HAD to think we were nuts... :tigbas: :champs: :geaux:
I have a pretty cool Warren Morris story. When I was a student living in one of the dorms my roommate walked in with a guy who looked strangely familiar. It was an early Saturday morning, right before I believe it may have been the 2000 Tennessee game. Or maybe that year's Mississippi State game. Anyway, he introduced us, first and last name. Nevermind that I was halfway asleep when we shook hands. I figured they were just old high school buddies. I went about my business, getting ready for a shower as my roommate and this other fellow talked. As I was about to leave the room, my roomie said, "______, you do realize that this is Warren Morris. And it then hit me. I lit up, and began asking him all sorts of questions. We ended up talking about an hour. I know it's not good to be nicer to celebrities and sports figures, but I couldn't help it. He was a very nice guy, quite humble, and not ashamed to say that he would probably get cut from the Pirates. Anyway, that's my story.
