Come bowl game time, I will be cheering for the SEC more then ever.... Bored stuck in Dallas traffic I got to thinking. WHo do you dislike more, USC fans or Ole Miss fans ??? Exactly. Who are bigger douche bags ? Big 10 fans or Auburn fans. Exactly. Whats my point. I will be screaming War Eagle during the Music City bowl. Because I realized although we fight in our own yards we share a common bond. We are Southern Football fans. We are southeners, we are the SEC.. Plus all these games are before our game. What will the Trev Alberts of the world have to say when the SEC is undefeated in bowl games come Jan 1 ? WOW LSU had the best record in the toughest conference in the nation, the Pac-10 is winless... However no matter what the occasion, I cheer for SEC teams when it has no negative bearing on LSU or in this case helps LSU... I like when some UT (Texas) fan has to come to me office and Say "Man Arkansas is a good team, they kicked our ass", then a month later LSU hangs half a hundred on said team and I can say "You were saying ?" I want the SEC to be the toughest league in the nation. I read on Alabama boards they DONT want LSU to win. Because they dont want us to get "To good".... WHAT THE F ??? Was beating Alabama that fun this year. NO. Why because they sucked this year. But beating a top ranked Bama team (For example) makes for a great southern football experience. One the UCLAs of the world can only read about. They have 45,000 at their games, Ole Miss has 45,000 in the grove.... YOu want to have game day at #3 LSU vs #5 Auburn. YOu want SEC teams playing Jan 1st bowl games and National Title games. You want us Southeners to show these BIg 10, Pac-10 idiots. Stick with Water Polo. Football is ruled in the South.... Worried about recruiting like some of the Bama boards I read ? Please what Southern kid does NOT want to play in the SEC, play in the swamp on National TV, come out in Tiger Stadium and have to pass a live Bengal Tiger to 93000 screaming fans. There is enough talent in the US for ALL of us to field top 25 teams... Sure we beat each other up, but what fun is playing a decimated Miss State team. When the top team in the SEC is done, there is no question who played the toughtest schedule. I dont know, maybe I am in the minority here, but as far as I am concerend. Go F'ing SEC. War Damn Eagle, Woo Pig, Rocky Top, How bout dem Dawgs, Hotty Toddy, whatever. Win SEC Win. Show the world who rules College footall. Geaux Tigers Run the table SEC.
I'm the same way. I always cheer for the SEC team in OOC games and bowl games. How can the SEC be a good conference if everyone sucks? AMEN! I've always felt that way, but being stuck in yankee land the past 4 yrs has only made that feeling stronger! I will absolutely be rooting for all our squads, but I REALLY hope we sweep the big 10 teams. I'm the ONLY football fan in my office that isn't an irate Penn Stater. Even though I've got a few of em on the Tigers' bandwagon this year, these guys would love nothing more than to finally have something, just something, to brag to me about.
That is so true LSUinPA. In some ways, I chalk up my cheering for SEC teams to maturity. Because when I was in college I surely didn't cheer for anyone other than LSU. But when I graduated and moved away I started to cheer and defend the SEC as a whole. To the current students: Don't take any of this excitment for granted. Go to every game you can home and away (some of my best college memories are all the away games I traveled to). You will never be an LSU student again, nor will you have the chance to fully relive these good times. Enjoy it! GEAUX TIGERS!!!
I pull for LSU when they aren't playing Bama. I have a really hard time pulling for the barners or terdersee. The rest are auto when playing outside of the SEC.
I always root for the SEC. After some of the classy things I've read from the Gator programs and thier players and ours. And Since Darth Visor isn't there anymore...... I'm starting to root for Florida Gators in the East. I had to overcome and forgive all the humiliating losses against Darth Visor and the Gators of the Past.
