I cooked Jambalaya for about 1200 at the Metairie walk last Saturday. Had some great helpers We had a great turnout. Hope to see everyone at the Walk to Defeat ALS in BR at Forest Park of Harrell's Ferry on 10/27.
Man, I want to come hang out with you at one of these shin digs. My son's bday party is the 27th, but keep me in the loop, Kyle. Oh yeah, we goin flounderin at the party (his party is a bonfire on the beach)!
Damn. Maybe I can just send the stuff to em and come to your son's party! Man I gotta do some floundering soon.
Got word yesterday that my "helpers" will definitely be there. The baseball team is usually there as well. Anyone who's not doing anything Saturday morning come on out!
About 1400 people showed up today. It was a great event. It grows every year. Hopefully they will find a cure soon. My helpers were pretty cool gals - meet Laura and Sky. Unfortunately it was too damned cold for shorts and tanks.
This is my youngest, Emma, helping serve jambalaya. Tiger Girls showed up CPM giving his support I didn't have time to get to the front for a pic of the Tiger Girls dance routine. My nephew Brandon. Happy Brandon This is Robin. She is an ALS patient/advocate. She and her husband are in the midst of an across the country awareness campaign. They started in Toledo, went west to Oregon, worked their way down the west coast, over through Arizona and on over to BR. They were going through town and saw a billboard about the walk and asked if they could participate. We were honored to have them. She is hoping to meet Steve Gleason when they head to NOLA. Serving line. Volunteers from one of the frats.
That's me in my UL gear pushing a stroller. I have made it a tradition to wear my long "coach's" socks. My wife and I raise money for this every year... Her uncle died do to ALS.
