Subject: About the noise level - it'll be like night and day difference against LSU - the Posted by: Sanders Hokie on Sun Aug 25 2002 10:22:06 PM Message: crowd of course was loud at first and then the game got out of hand so the crowd wasn't as loud. but against LSU and with a sold out stadium it will be LOUD you can count on that. my new section doesn't stand up and yell as much as the old one and that kind of got to me. i love it when everyone stands and yells especially when the team is on defense. well if they don't stand at least they could yell. hopefully they will against LSU.
We dont even have any of those kind of sections. In fact, I dont think I've ever seen anyone even sit down in Tiger Sadium.
About the noise I think most of you guys are taking the noise thing the wrong way. Tech is loud, very loud... but as far as I know the majority of us Hokies believe you when you say it won't affect your team (seeing as we don't have first hand knowledge of how your team reacts to noise). When we talk about the noise, we are talking about our team, not LSU's. VT players get pumped when the crowd is in the game. When we speak of our advantage about the crowd noise, we aren't talking about something negative for LSU. We're talking something positive for VT. The home crowd and the noise will get our team pumped... hence the advantage we keep referring to.
