First off, I can't wait for this ballgame. Win or lose, it will be a night to remember.

I'm looking for some help. I'm planning on taking the motorhome down to the game but so far haven't been able to find anything on motorhome parking for visitors. I know there is a a huge fleet of motorhomes (y'all brought about 200 up to Blacksburg a few years ago) and so I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction re: permits/passes/etc.

Thanks in advance and we'll see you in September!

What else would you like to know? Where to eat? What to do? Traditions, etc?

It's going to be a great game. :thumb:

Sure, any and all suggestions are welcomed. I'll also copy/paste over onto Techsideline.com, VT's primary message board if that's okay.

FYI, every Hokie that I've talked to that's coming down is more pumped for this game that any I can remember, except for maybe the 2000 Sugar Bowl. And its funny because we're not pumped so much because we think we're going to win (which is a tall, tall order) but because we know its going to be an experience unlike any we've really ever had.

So here's hoping for an injury free, rock-em-sock-em ballgame that is remembered as one of the best OOC matchups of the year! And thanks again for any and all info!

Just one caution about the weather. It'll be brutally hot or very wet ... or maybe both like it was for the Oregon State fans a few year ago. I met a number of OSU fans literally wilting while walking around campus. I'm sure they welcomed the monsoon that came right before kickoff.

Don't let it stop you from walking around campus and enjoying the tailgating, just be prepared for it.

Yes. Come tailgate with the best. We welcome you and your family to LSU. :thumb:

Can't help with the parking as I live just a mile away. :D

    Welcome Fightin Gobbler!

We also expect a great contest. Two teams rated top 10 in pre season, should be a good game. Two great defenses.

Stay a while and talk to us as the game approaches, invite over a few friends from VT. This is a good LSU board.

Both teams will find out early exactly what they have in this one. Two good coaches also.

Sounds great. We're planning on being there all day before the game so we should have plenty of time to see the sights and take in the atmosphere.

Thanks! We had a blast w/ you guys in Blacksburg, probably the best fan base I've ever had a chance to party with. Too bad it took so long to play the return game as I misplaced the various invites to tailgate that I got from LSU fans we met. VT fans love a good tailgate and I think you'll find us a fun bunch too.

Agreed on all counts. As the game gets closer I'm sure there will be lots of cross posting. Be sure to check out Techsideline.com if you want to get VT's side of things. Its a great site and for the most part, has a good group of posters (though like every site, there are a few bad apples). I've got this site bookmarked now and will be back.

As to the game itself, on paper its a whale of a defensive matchup w/ most of the question marks on offense. I think the energy level is going to be sky high so the offense that's able to settle down first will have the early edge. I'm most concerned about our special teams (which may seem odd given our reputation in that area). We are breaking in a new punter and placekicker and I can't think of a tougher environment for those guys than Tiger Stadium at night.

In the end, it will probably (hopefully for us!) come down to a few key plays and of course, turnovers. I'm just hoping we don't get blown out early and can keep it interesting into the 4th quarter. If we can do that, we've got a chance.
