These are as quiet as a Benjamin Pellet gun- not exaggerating. Great for people who live within the city limits and have rodent problems. I shot a couple of squirrels that were devouring pecans in my mom's trees. She lives in a neighborhood. They're THAT quiet. Cartridge contains no powder. 20 gram solid point. 500FPS is well below the sound barrier and another reason they're quiet. It will not cycle in most semi-automatic firearms and manufacturers caution that they only be used in handguns so be advised. I CAN tell you there are a lot of reviews from people using them with long rifles, as do I, with no problems reported.
500? Wow, that is like a cheap pellet gun, except with a heavier bullet. My Gammo is rated at 1200 fps, but a pellet doesn't have near the mass of a 22 bullet.
I hope you aren't serious a POS like that shot my pet cat in high school. My cat, shot through both front shoulders, dragged himself nearly 500 yards back to our carport where my mom found him and called me. I raced home to find him wrapped in towels soaked in blood and in shock. My dad drove us to the vet and I held him in my lap as he purred ( cats purr when they are in severe pain or are scared ) and gasped for air. He had no idea what was going on and just wanted to be comforted as he died. He ended up living, but the amount of suffering he went through was horrible to see. He was one of the best pets I ever had........the most loving and friendly cat you ever saw. After very expensive surgery and spending 10 weeks in casts, he survived. Looking back, the only thing I wish was that I had laid an even more permanent and painful ass whipping on that scrawny, trashy, little **** so that he could have looked back and felt the pain for the rest of his pathetic life. I'm not some tree hugger and I'm not opposed to hunting, but when people talk about killing defenseless dogs and cats, pets or no, it really sets me off. I know some people don't have pets and don't even understand the concept or the love and bond that people have for their animals, but even strays deserve more respect that to be target practice.
The shot must be properly placed and they won't suffer...nor live. Least that's what I've been told. I love cats and dogs. I spend money for nice kennels that, when I wash them, the feces goes to the septic tank. I also have collars with underground fencing. My cat stays around or in our house. If a stray or a neighbors' comes on MY property and phucks with mine, god help 'em. In short, there are reasons for leash laws and the same principle applies to kitty kats. As for Strays that are starving, they need to be put out of their misery. And before you or anyone else jumps in here with both feet thinking this is a radical thought, understand it's commonplace throughout the world. Government-run pounds vary from "no kill" to as short as holding them for 24 hours...and up to 30 days in Kansas. Most give them 3-5 days. The alternative is not good.
