Yeah........isn't Vandy picked to win the East?? Or was it the West they're in?? :hihi:

It's working o.k. cause they weren't chit, and still aren't.

I understand that some think that football is the only sport. Having said that, their seasons in baseball and basketball certainly weren't too shabby.

Sometimes all you need is someone who can think beyond the box.

Apparently, they also won a National Championship in Women's Bowling in the programs 3rd or 4th year in existence... Too bad no other school in the country would consider following their example in eliminating the Athletic Department. But hey, it works for them.

This is the reason why this can work at Vanderbilt. I don't see it being plausible for a larger institution.

Vandy's quietly put together a pretty decent team over in Nashville. They have a solidly average QB and probably the best WR in the conference in Earl Bennett. They have a solid WVU-style running game, though not nearly as good as WVU. They aren't a pushover anymore.

In fact, my big upset-watch of the early season is Vandy possibly taking down Bama in week 2.

I agree, but I'm not ready to classify it as an upset yet.

That will really be a huge game. I think the loser of that game does NOT go to a bowl, while the winner likely does, regardless of who wins. And if Bama loses, they could easily start the season 1 and 4. They have a tough early part of the season.

The best WR in the conference wears No. 9 for LSU. The 2nd best WR wears No. 85 for Arkansas.
