You can also view other links just below the Thank You video of the great crowd they had for all games this past weekend. Notice the huge parking garage in right field. There was tailgating going on on every level during last nights game. Four years ago Vandy baseball had no support for a weak program. Now they have a top notch facility with huge fan support that has never existed. I'm happy to see a small, classy SEC school building success after so many years of losing. Enjoy! I hope this can be done at LSU someday after big games. It would be nice to hear from all the players after a great game or season thanking all the Tiger fans.
My point being having comments from players posted on a blog so fast after a game. I have not seen such video access from a college team so fast from a University sponsored site. I think this will grow and hopefully will be much better then seeing a bunch of reporters asking stupid questions after a game. I like the concept.
If they wanted to thank the fans, they could have done it by not choking in their regional. I'm not so sure Vandy is as classy as you think. Slamming the ball down on the mound at the end of every inning can be viewed as showing up your opponent. Asking a question to the crowd between inning mocking your opponents head coaching search is less than classy. Nonetheless, the fact is that Vandy is soft and let a team like Michigan who was inferior but wanted it more whip them on their own field in their most important game in history. The fact is that Vandy had a very good team this year and has absolutely nothing to show for it.
I'm dissapointed to hear you say Vandy has nothing to show for their season. They won both the regular season and SEC tournament and was able to host their first regional ever. They have scores of player awards not to mention yesterday's MLB draft. This program was non existent 5 years ago. All new programs who have experienced years of losing then suddenly have a good coach go through what Vandy is experiencing. They now have a program that is well respected. Remember, we wanted their coach here in BR. I was at the games and Vandy did not choke, Michigan beat them. Michigan is a lot better team then anyone wants to give them credit for. Did you know Michigan's team batting average is higher then Vandy's? They are this years cinderella peaking at the right time and might just make it to Omaha. I would ask any of the Tiger baseball players if they think Vandy is soft after getting swept by Vandy at the end of the season when our Tigers are supposed to be playing their best ball of the season. They are a very good team and never gave up, Vandy just got beat by a better team in the regional. Heck, 5 of the top 8 teams lost in the regionals this year. This says a lot about parity and what happens when a team gets hot. Give Vandy credit. We always want credit when our Tigers do well, don't we? As far as the slamming the ball and talking to the crowd, I don't like that either. It fires up the other team and I think it fired up Michigan. Hopefully that is another lesson learned for their program.
Vandy was a real good team this year and way better than LSU. But gzilla has a point too. No one will remember the year they had because they didnt make it far enough. It is the name of the game.
Uh, well sure, that's the way it is. But give em credit for a great season and Coach Corbin for building something out of nothing. Don't call em chokers, my gosh, they didn't choke and they are not soft. There a very solid team.
