One of the reasons I AM pulling for Boise. If there's a problem with the system, let's fix it; otherwise we need to zip it since that same system has been very good to us. Not to mention a lil controversy is what makes college football fun.
I agree they are a disciplined team. But the reason they don't shoot themselves in the foot is because they don't play anyone that could help them pull the trigger. As has been stated, they play one or MAYBE two real teams/year...and just started doing that recently. They are playing a good ACC team tonight, and a mid level Pac 10 team later down the road. That's it. Period. That's their season. It's a travesty if they are allowed to play for the NC.
i've gone on record multiple times here to say i'm good with the current system as opposed to any playoff format i've ever seen proposed.
That's the problem, WE can't fix it. The only ones who can are too busy counting TV $ and reshuffling conferences to compete with the SEC. Boise has a nice one-time "glass ceiling" story that the sports media will eat up, but the big conferences won't let that be the Rosa Parks moment that busts up the system. Also keep in mind that there are just as many teams who have been shafted by the system as teams that have benefited from it. And no team that faces such little real competition on a weekly basis should jump a 1-loss team that takes its lumps every week. If Boise has a problem with that, they can join an expanded Pac-10 or Big-12.
"WE" should not want it to be screwed with, it's been kosher for us just look at the NC titles. What it's caused is for SEC teams to play better OOC games and other conferences to schedule down. Everyone kinda meeting in the middle schedule-wise. lmao. Pac10 fans despise the system.
I'm a believer!! Wow, that was one of the most dominating quarters of football I have ever seen. Boise State is the real deal!!
