While you libs were screaming for masks and vaxs, Chicago gangs were killing kids. Dont remember a single thread by any of you...

    https://nypost.com/2021/09/11/more-children-in-chicago-have-been-shot-than-died-from-covid/

The CDC reported that 214 children 17-years old or younger have died of COVID-19 nationwide so far this year — compared to 261 Chicago kids who have been victims of gunfire in Chicago, according to police statistics reported by

In summary, we would need 15 more school shootings like this one to equal all the kids shot/killed in Chicago alone last year due to gang violence.

if we cared about violence in proportion to who is doing it and who is dying, we could concentrate very heavily on imprisoning youg black men more and for longer

Exactly why @Rex and his ilk's outrage is bullshit. The $53b we gave Ukraine could have been used to fund better security measures to the tune of roughly $400k for each of the nation's 130,000 k-12 schools, like this school in Fla. America First!

You and whoever else against anything being done, yet again, to address this legally from happening again are the disgustingly dishonest ones. 20 people, almost all 3rd-4th grade kids, had rights to make it home yesterday. They didn’t and once again there will probably not be anything done to address it because of people like you will protest about “your” rights. Then, the NRA will be the biggest contributors to many of our elected officials, ensuring nothing is considered and nothing is changed.

Nah. I know where the blame actually is, humans.

You can only legislate humans so much. To the point of which criminals just don't follow the law.

Example? Chicago, New Orleans, New York? ETC.....

The true cause is much deeper than legislation and cultural. You cannot legislate culture.

I would say, the true cause is the lefts persistent attack on family values that has destroyed the culture of many communities, most notable the black community. There is almost a direct correlation between the lefts rise of destruction to increases in violent crimes in these communities.

There’s much truth in what you say. It is culture that creates the conditions we live in. It’s cultural that we ignore people and allow generations to be wasted by low/expectations. It’s cultural that we don’t demand education and morality of our people. It is cultural that we allow individual rights to trump the common good. It is cultural when we celebrate and excuse violence and anger and hate.
This country was founded on the aspirations that we could become better and the struggle for improvement was worthwhile. It didn’t matter what your ancestry was or where you started if you had aspirations and worked to attain them you would become better and add to the country’s betterment.
Unfortunately we seem to have lost sight of that over the last 50+ years and only by regaining it will we improve this malaise. No one law removing guns or putting people in jail or armoring public places will do much if we don’t change our ideals and regain our aspirations to be better in every way. Maybe if we quit shouting at each other and worked to make us better we can start.

People in Chicago and New Orleans use guns BECAUSE THEY'RE SO FUCKING EASY TO GET.

Can't legislate culture? Bullshit, you fucking sociopath. Other countries have passed legislation that have effectively reduced mass shootings to an average of ZERO per year. In the meantime, the USA has 390 MASS SHOOTINGS per year. It's a simple, predictable outcome: more guns mean more gun deaths.

The USA has 5% of the world's population but ONE THIRD OF ALL MASS SHOOTINGS occur here. Why? Because we have 42% of the world's guns.

The homicide rate in the USA is SEVEN TIMES the average of advanced countries. Why? Because our homicide rate by gun is TWENTY FIVE TIMES the average of advanced countries.
