I get the biggest kick out of some of these crybabies. Now, one of them wants to cancel his subscription to the Daily Advertiser because the LSU win was front page news. Another says he cancelled his because they call them UL-Lafayette instead of UL. I would drop a post on them but there are reasonable people who are responding. Anyway, it's worthy of a few yucks:

Man...can't they face reality? They are a D-1AA school masquerading as a D-1A school. LSU is THE flagship and yes, they are "ULL". Even ULL's website agrees...www.ULL.edu

Why is it "rubbing it in" if we call them that?

Lafayette is very weird when it comes to LSU . Even in the school paper students get upset when other students wear LSU things.

    Its pretty pathetic.

They want to develop their own identity, and I don't blame them. But this was a huge step forward for college football in Louisiana. Everyone should enjoy this from Tiger fans, to ULL fans, to LaTech fans, to ULM fans, to USL fans, and Tulane fans. I'm sure they will be involved in the pre-game stuff in New Orleans, all wearing their LSU gear. For atleast one day in La, the entire state will pull for the Tigers.

I am a ULL grad....and I find it real silly the animosity towards LSU....but it is all derived from the UL naming fiasco of the 80s.

ULL regards LSU as the big bully on the block basically.

Just trying to give you guys insight as to why the hatred.

I always find it funny when you go to Lafayette that they are more LSU ball caps worn, more lsu stickers on cars, and more lsu flags fly on homes, but they can't stand the fact that USL is second fittle(sp) to LSU. They really need to swallow their pride and drop down to D-1AA where they belong and play McNeese every year. That use to be a very big rivalry

So am I. It wasn't that way back in the early 70s. Well maybe a little, but back then, USL competed against "their own kind" in the old Gulf States Conference. We knew we couldn't compete with LSU and didn't want to. We wanted to whip up on McNeese, La Tech, Lamar, etal. We co-existed peacefully. Even today, I'm sure Nicholls State, McNeese, Southeastern and Northwest La fans will pull for their team AND for LSU. But, USL, UL-Ruston and Tulane have got a big ole terminal case of Penis Envy!

The funniest thing I've ever heard was on a forum I moderate where a UL grad actually blamed the states educational problems on LSU and the LSU football program. I died laughing when I read that!

In a way you have to see that wearing another schools stuff is not a popular thing to do anywhere. Could you see a Carencro student wearing a Lafayette high shirt or LSU student wearing another university colors. I don't agree with the ULL fans and thier hatred toward LSU but I don't think people who wear other school's clothes should act suproised if they are despised.

I do agree that ULL should go to AA and get the instate stuff going again. May not make as much money for the school though. One game against LSU was woth more than all htier home games combined I think is what I read.
