USC to start redshirt freshman Sam Dyson in SEC Tourney opener

...Dyson has never faced a batter in an SEC game. Never mind that the South Carolina baseball team is set to face the hottest team in the country.

The redshirt freshman was tabbed to start the SEC tournament opener against LSU, on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Hoover, Ala.
Dyson has spent all season as a midweek starter.
He’s pitched well this season (7-0, 3.86 ERA), is well-rested (it will have been eight days since his last outing) and LSU has never seen him before.
