Oklahoma is a surprising 3, with Auburn 4 and Florida State 5. Utah is 7. i cannot find the actual poll, just this ESPN article. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=1904339
Wow, if this holds (I know it's unlikely) and the Big 12, Big 10, and SEC get left out in the cold - heads are going to roll...
The funniest thing about this BCS poll is the "average computer ranking" Utah--4 Oklahoma--5
I would not have Utah above OU by any stretch of the imagination. Having said that, I still like Thug U and Trailer Park WarChickenEaglePlainFakeTigers University over OU because of quality of opponents played thus far. In both of those teams' cases, it will only get better as ThugU still has Florida and Virginia and Auburn still has UGA. Preseason rankings are a b*tch!!!
Utah needs to play a real team. But, Peabody, the Sooners haven't been too impressive. You had trouble scoring against Texas and KSU very nearly sprung the upset...and this is not a very good Wildcat team. Auburn would give you guys a lot of trouble.
No doubt, However, I'm not too worried. I think we have a great chance to run the table this year. Last year, 2003, we were dominating as hell during the regular season only to lose both games in the post season. When we ran the table in 2000, we weren't dominating. We just won every game, some of them close games. This year, 2004, we don't appear to be dominating. We are just doing what it takes and winning every game so far kinda like in 2000. Because of that, I like our chances. I also like our chances because we are now two dimensional with the run and the pass. That makes it much harder to defend us of course. OSU in Stillwater still scares me but not as much after seeing A&M kick their asses. A&M in CS really scares me. McNeal is really turning out to be a very good QB. They seem to have a lot of really good receivers too. Our only weakness right now is our defensive secondary.
