Can you provide some facts to back this up? If this is just your opinion then you should state that. I think Oklahoma may take issue with that statement. And I know I do.
USC is the best team in the pac-10, their D Can't be better than ours since we're rated #1 in most categories n the Nation. Pac-10 is Overatted as usual. As for our bottom feeder teams: Vandy lost to Georgia Tech in Overtime 24-17 Miss St beat Vandy 30-21, Memphis 35-27 lost to might pac-10 Oregon 42-34 Get This: Ole Miss lost to Memphis 44-34 Ole miss beat Vandy 24-21 My point in all this is I think the SEC is as strong as ever, even thought a few teams are struggling, thosebottom feeder teams were competitive against some top SEC teams and would be more competitive playing out of conference. Oh, I had to repost this because I left one thing out. Alabama......... Is there a better 3-6 team in America? In midst of the coaching change they gave Olahoma there toughest game to date. They've been in every game to date except the Ole Miss one.
USC is good but has not played anyone. The pac 10 is weak. People say the same about LSU however the SEC is the best conference. LSU could beat USC in LA. by 14
Puh-lease, your credibility is waning. First of all, both the D's are so solid that a game between these two could actually go into overtime tied at zero-zero. The over/under would probably be lower than that for the '79 Sugar Bowl between Bama and Penn State......probably 27-28 points total, and I'd still take the Under. If LSU won, I could see that game being 14-10 or maybe 13-7, something like that. But if USC won, I could see the score being in the vicinity of 17-10 or 17-7 And I'm not certain I totally buy-off on the "SEC is better this year" angle until a few more weeks of the season have played out for both conferences. Traditional SEC powers, with the exception of LSU, are "down" right now - like UF, UT, Bama, and Auburn. Everyone has been killing each other off....talk about your "blood feud." *grin* Then the next level of teams is topsey turvey, with Ole Miss stepping up, Arky faltering, UGA real banged up, and MSU suffering in misery. And while the argument has been made that USC has played only three quality teams, and lost one of those games, I don't see anyone in the SEC that has set the world afire with their strength of schedule thus far. I'm still a proponent of the SEC Power philosophy, and I'm confident the SEC teams will "represent" during bowl season, just want very SEC team to play it out.
cadillacattack, You need to read my post above, Bama is down but they gave Oklahoma a run for thier money unlike anyone else has done in the big 12 or any other team. LSU's offense is now playing well, USC's defense isn't good enough to shut us down. If I remember right Auburns defense was ranked pretty high and we both know what happened there. We have a 2 dimensional attack not a one dimensional attack. Its pretty easy to take a running team or a passing team and shut em down. Vandy lost to Georgia Tech in ot, a team that beat you. Miss st lost to Oregan, gave them a game 42-34. You need to read the post above I stated with facts and come at us with facts other than "What you think" about the SEC.
dude. right now LSU can beat anyone ... I know I have on my LSU glasses but they are hot.... hey 14 it could happen.
You're correct, they did give OU a battle , even though they didn't have the type of depth needed to finsih off the job. The fact that OU couldn't keep an SEC bottom-feeder from scoring 13 points and making it a close game speaks poorly for OU's defense, thus supporting my earlier point. C'mon, even in the Sagarin ratings points, the Pac-10 and SEC are only separated by 3 ratings points, not even enough to cover the advantage offered by homefield. The conferences are similar at this point in the season. I'm only suggesting that we'll be able to see "meaningful, significant" separation by the SEC as key rivalries play out in the final week of the season. Again, puh-lease, trying to pump-up-the-power of a team soundly beaten by the likes of Northern Illinois by proclaiming moral victory against OU is beneath the dignity of any righteous LSU fan. 'Nuff said. Regarding the facts, the only facts I see stated in your post are scores of previously played games. And while past performance SOMETIMES indicates future performance, look no further than the stock market to see what will happen if you bet that way every time. Past scores are meaningless other than the W they contribute to the win column. They mean nothing as to predicting future outcomes - which is why we all enjoy discussing, arguing, convincing, and smacking the undecided outcomes and what those results will mean. Ain't SEC football great?
