They have two good backs, a so-so OL. Their defense gives fits to Sun Belt teams. Someone want to break this team down as game day nears?
Please! LSU will maul this poor team! The mismatches on both sides of the ball are enormous. Speed, Weight & Talent advantage LSU. It will get ugly very quickly as "Air Attack Geaux" lights up the boards in 2005. Expect to see 400+ yards passing and 4-6 passing TDs. This hapless team will try to keep LSU's receivers in front of them, but will get burned on BIG PASSING PLAY AFTER BIG PASSING PLAY. The running game will break off big chunks of yardage and allow even more scores. SHUTOUT??? That's the only drama here. Can NT avoid one? It would be impressive to see one!!!
The Mean Green or Eagles whichever moniker they want to use, do have the two good RBs but they have to replace the majority of their O-line and start a new QB plus a they have a all new D-line and all but one member in the secondary. They were beaten 65-0 by Texas, 52-21 by Colorado and 34-17 by Baylor. This is the same team that won the Sun Belt and but were beaten 31-10 and easily handled by USM in the NO Bowl. LSU should win this game easily, and I will be very disappointed if they don't cover the early 33-point spread. This will be a good game for the Tigers to try to work out any kinks or trouble spots in preparation for the Arizona State Sun Devils.
Do the math.. they are a weaker team than the one that lost to FAU and got destroyed by Colorado, Baylor, Southern Miss, and Texas... Hell, even the teams they beat in the Sun Belt kept it close for the most part... Even UL was in in until about 4 to go... Yes, they have both of their All-American (ooh, they ran all over the sun belt!) runningbacks back, but there is still only one football. Add that to the fact that LSU should have twice the offense they had last year (even with AB out), and that equals a blowout.
I seem to remember not to long ago alot of the same talk going on right before the UAB game. I dont care how crappy one team might be you should NEVER look past them.
I remember the Nebraska teams of the 70's ,80's, 90's and they always took care of business in these type games but i have seen them close or tied at the half. I remember 2003 ULM was close at half then LSU pulled away in the second half. I never like to overlook these type teams because they can beat you if you mess around and let them hang in for the second half.
I will be seriously disapointed if it 's not at least 38-0 by halftime. Even if we play in another monsoon. I think CLM will have these guys ready to tear em a new one. Jimbo is gonna let it fly just to work the kinks out and give ASU, TENN, and the rest something to fear. A Tigers team that can throw and run. Throw in a stout D and this is over very fast and gets ugly by halftime.
ill break it down... they are good against inferior opponents, but their watered down run system cant compete with big boys.. I mean heck... didn't they lose to ULL? or barely beat them? i say 45-0 in the 3rd whe nwe put in the reserves, and coast to a 52-7 win
