Keep an eye on what happens with the LB transfer from Tulane, Ace Foyil. He is petitioning the NCAA for immediate eligibility because Tulane has at least temporarily canceled his degree program following Katrina. That is key because I'm being told that Bo McCaleb, UNO PG, is interested in LSU if he can gain immediate eligibility for next season. Apparently, UNO has canceled his degree program also. McCaleb is injured this year - he played 4 games and averaged 19+ points before the injury. Add him in with Tac back from his injury and suddenly you have solid PG depth. The feeling is that Foyil will win his appeal, so that could be big news for LSU basketball.:thumb:

What is sad is you're seeing the fallout from Hurricane Katrina in ways no one even thought about. It'll be interesting to see what happens. The NCAA's past decisions on these type of things has not been positive for the athlete. I would hope these athletes have some legal representation because if the NCAA waffles on this I would advise them to head straight to the media and put that story into national headlines thereby putting a lot of focus, attention and scrutiny on the NCAA.

If we get Bo McCaleb and the only guy we lose from this years team is D. Mitch. Talk about loaded Big Baby with another off season of losing 20 lbs, Tyrus, Taz, Darnell, and G.T. improving their game to go along with Mason and Martin. Not to mention Magnum, Voogd, and Chris Johnson will deff. improve. Then Tac would be back off injury. That would be scary.

WOW.....just WOW is all i can say

last year McCaleb lit up LSU for 32 points and he was their ONLY threat to score...we still couldn't stop him...bo is legit and is right up there with dmitch in terms of athletic ability and a playmaker

if we got bo, i guarantee you we'd have a BETTER team next year -- with or without tyrus thomas

He's another SG wearing PG clothes. Shoots about 26% from 3 and what... 38-39% from the field. Puts up way too many shots and has way too few assists. I'm not necessarily that excited about it.

are you kidding? this kid can flat out play and i've seen him play a few times

he is UNO's ONLY scoring threat...and when i say only i'm serious....in fact, i think 38% sounds about right considering how many bad shots he has to take...but if he was surrounded by the likes of tasmin, tyrus, big baby, etc. the guy has potential to be an all-american...he's that good

in fact, bo and minor were both HS seniors together and brady opted for minor ... turns out that bo is the much better player but you can't complain when you get a top 30 player

    So have I.....

I dunno. It remains to be seen. I'd like to think he could dish it to Driggs for 3 a few times per game.

Hindsight is always 20/20 and just because he averages 18 a game on 38% doesn't mean he'd get to take that many shots and score that much at LSU. I do not necessarily think Tack is all that great either so don't misread what I'm saying. (I think we would probably have beaten Cincinnati had he not gotten hurt tho).
