In this day and age! I believe them, but it is unbelievable. How could this happen? I am surprised that the black Ole Miss players don't kick the you-know-what out of this(these) guys. I hope Bowers has fun on a team that this could happen on. This combined with the Rebel Flag, Colonel Reb, et cetera has to really damage their recruiting of black players. If I were black, I would not want to go to a team with players that called the opponents n*ggers during the game. It is really hard to believe! But, I believe it from two seemingly quality people as Spears and Lavalais. Is anyone else blown away by this? It's like going back in time 35 years.

Kind of ironic when half of your own team is black.

If true, and I have no reason to doubt that it is not, then Ole Miss Coach David Cutcliffe should apologize to Chad Lavalais, Marcus Spears, Coach Saban, and the entire LSU team, and then he should call a team meeting and address this, because, with about half of his own team being black, that could cause some trouble.

But let's not get carried away and buy into PC-crap, Confederate flag, Colonel Reb, everything about Ole Miss and Mississippi is racist, blah, blah, blah. I have defended Colonel Reb, Ole Miss' mascot, their nickname, the Rebels, and the waving of Confederate flags at Ole Miss games for quite awhile. I don't think there is anything inherently racist in those practices, unless somebody chooses to inject race into it by saying hateful things about black people while they are doing it. Let's instead concentrate on this isolated incident and make sure it is contained.

They did it to get Spears and Lavalais to fight. Easy to understand why. They wanted to win that damned badly and they were getting their arses beaten every play.

Marcus Spears turned the other cheek ... just like a true PRO.

Reflect HIM & OUR COACH ... Let it go, Ole Miss will suffer this division enough, and we don't need the distractions.

    So...You saying Lavalais isn't a pro?

Lavalais didn't react on the field...Does that mean he's not a pro because he reacted afterwards?

This is hilarious...You have just shown yourself to be a total nincumpoop...

Using this opinion, Ramah, you'd advocate, "Since we weren't there to see the tree fall in the woods, even though it fell, it is impossible to say that it made a sound because we were not there to hear it."

    Do you understand this?

In other words, you tout Spears for doing what he felt right...He did nothing.

You call him a pro, and then don't comment about Lavalais and his decision to mention it, which is to infer that Lavalais showed some immaturity or unprofessionalism so to speak for doing so.

I'm sorry, but are you going to say that since Americans not in the Armed Services can't stop soldiers from dying in Iraq, then we don't need to hear about it, and it's not news, because that's just a cold, hard fact of war...

I think that mindset would be totally off-base, but the thought process to reach this point is totally in line with what you're advocating...

I am not saying you believe this way, but I'm trying to get you to understand what you're trying to say...

You really need to think before you post...

When Albert Belle who went by the name Joey Belle was a baseball player for LSU he went into the stands with a bat after some Moo U fans who called him the N word on a road game in Starkville. If its true that Ole Miss players were saying racial slurs against black LSU players it should be given the media coverage that it deserves. How many black recruits would choose Ole Miss over LSU after that if they knew that their white Ole Miss teamates felt like that? Ole Miss deserves to have the race card played against them.

You guys need to get out and see the real world and quit listening the the PC on TV. Do you ever watch black entertainers? They use such words all the time.

Do you rember the Independence Bowl vs Michigan State. Do you remember the repeated altercations which eventually led to Freshman OL, Flozell Adams being tossed from the game. LSU players were accused by the Michigan State players of using racial slurs. Trash talking is part of the game of life and is amplified in athletic competition.
