When asked about playing in Deaf Valley (From Dandy Don www.dandydon.com) "Mark Richt was asked early in the day about playing LSU at Deaf Valley, and the coach's reply was that the only Deaf Valley he knew about was at Clemson."
I remember it it was during his Tuesday press conference right before Nick Saban's on ESPNEWS. He said and I quote the only Deaf Valley I ever heard of was at Clemson.
Just listened to the entire Press Conference it is available at the included link... never said that... he did say it was one of the toughest enviroments in college football..and that he'd been there before: http://georgiadogs.ocsn.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/091603aaa.html
Bottom line guys, is that if either team needs bulletin board material to get players up for this game, then they shouldn't be playing at either school. This game is the first huge clash of titans in the SEC this year--more hyped (up to this point) than even the Vols and Gators. This is 7 versus 10. This is a possible SEC championship game preview This is TIGERS and Dogs! 'Nuff said...
some people like to call it DEAF Valley because of the noise......but I don't like it. Its DEATH VALLEY...always has been, always will be!!!!!!!:lsug:
Re: Just listened to the entire Press Conference This article pretty well tells the story of how Georgia is preparing for this game. Georgia has no illusions of having an easy time. I would expect Richt to come up with a game plan similar to one he prepared for FSU against Michigan in the early 90's. The Michigan defense was as strong as any. Richt used a lot of counter plays to work against their quick reactions. Shockley will fit into that scheme well. Since Richt mentioned Corey Webster., I doubt that he will test him much short. Probably more focused on the middle of the field. I suspect that he has been looking at the LSU - Kentucky game film from last year and has tried to determined why Jack Hunt had to make 15 tackles from the Safety position. Hunt is not 100% right now, so I would excpect to see Clayton back there quite a bit. Richt knows his business so it will be interesting to say the least.
