are we supposed to disagree? if people think of a civil warf in the same sense as the american civil war, then certainly iraq is not like that, where every able-bodied male is taking up arms and heading for a battlefield to be slaughtered. it is a matter of definition. i saw my typo of civil "warf" up there, but i left it because i liked it.
Please be more specific as to how this is another Bush F*** Up so I can argue against you and Red can tell me how wrong I am and how Bush actually did somehow F*** up.
That's pretty much how most of the posts on this board go :thumb: . Just saw this online and found it funny, considering most people think Iraq is in a civil war. (I'm assuming here but looking at the complete onesidedness of the cnn.com front page poll, it's safe to assume. Don't give me that liberal slanted bs. Republicans read cnn.com too and I've seen many polls where the "right-view" was ahead.)
Don't forget to bring religion into it. Me and Red always do that. That's a nice bridge, mac. How much you wantin for it?
From the American Heritage Dictionary: civil war noun. A war between factions or regions of the same country. Fallon may be a good admiral but he can't read the friggin' dictionary. Plus he just received this appointment. His Predecessor, General Abizaid, was a lot more pessimstic last August after having been in the chit for a couple of years.
Having supported Bush since the start of the war, I honestly feel he has not been a good wartime president. He has made multiple mistakes. Training of secury forces and Iraqi army personnel should have taken place out-of-country as recommended. Bush refused to listen. The Iraqi army should have been used as part of the reconstruction of Iraq. Bush disbanded it and most members joined the insurgents. Bush reduced number of U.S. forces personnel below the numbers required to get the job done. Bush failed to properly equip the forces there. The big question, should we have invaded Iraq in the first place, is open to question. But in view of the fact that the primary reason for going into Iraq was to eliminated WMDs, and the fact that no WMDs have been found can certainly be a credible basis for stating that the invasion was a mistake. This is particularly true when we recall that many nations and individuals were urging him not to invade Iraq until the UN inspectors had more time to search for WMDs. Once again Bush did not listen and launched the invasion, perhaps prematurely. Bush's decision-making has been anything but exemplary.
Uh-oh. That's gonna piss off Sourdough. He's going to post a link to an article where they found 50 chemical munitions collecting dust from the pre-gulf war era.
