according to the current mock draft on the reputable NBA site, HoopsHype. Tyrus gets drafted just before Rudy Gay and JJ Redick in their mock.

Tyrus goes 6th in the NBADraft.net mock.

Umm....Sorry Hell. So what he is a freshman. The league obviously is drafting youngstas based on their potential which he has a lot of. I agree he should stay another year, I agree he has not proven himself to be a steady dominant force yet, but the scouts love his length, hieght, talent, they LOVE his frame (he has a lot more room to improve his muscle mass) The scouts really love this kid, and everytime he has been on the big stage he has delivered in a big way. Check out the latest Sports Illustrated, and see what LSU player they are talking about. Its not just a few people talking anymore, everybody knows about T-Time.

People said I was crazy, but I been saying it from jump Tyrus is the one not Glen (up for the NBA next year) I just hope he stays. In the meantime, hope we continue to win. All yall haters that are doubting those Tigers for the NCAA tourney this year just watch and see how far those youngstas go. They are going to shock a lot of people. They are not gon win the whole thing, but they will go pretty far

Tell that to Shawn Kemp, Kobe Bryant and Lebron James (just to name a few) who were drafted BEFORE EVER MAKING IT TO THEIR COLLEGE FRESHMAN YEAR!!!

Personally, I HATE the NBA and MLB drafts....they depleat the college game. And for every Kobe, Kemp or James, there are dozens of other youngsters believing that they too will be the next superstar....and when some of those high school-kids-turned-pro can't handle the pressure and fail, they have NOTHING left to fall back on...

well when I first saw they had him ahead of reddick and rudy gay it surprised me... but thinking about it.. those guys have pretty much topped out... plus reddick's kinda one dimensional. This is going to be a pretty weak draft class now that I think about it and Tyrus is the real deal. He's only going to get better and that's for sure

Kemp was drafted after his freshman season at Trinity Junior College.

yea but kobe, KG, LeBron were all studs known nationally when they were seniors, nobody outside of LSU fans probably knew who Tyrus was coming out of high school.
but lately the NBA has been drooling over the "freak athlete" type, like Rudy Gay and Marvin Williams, so i think Tyrus will go high if he were to go, i'm sure someone will take a chance on him
