You just found out about that? Trust me when I say this...Carey might have gotten 1-2 touches in the Sugar Bowl...and Wilkerson was the snapper for a good portion of the year last year... We gave him off because another player stepped up in Damen...but it was also because we were worried about his health holding up over the long haul of a season. We lost the player, he has lost the luxury, but he has also been perfectly healthy for a good portion of the season. Snapping duties for him are not new, and we won't skip a beat... On top of that, this game won't come down to special teams, of that I can assure you...
I disagree. If this game remains close, special teams may very well play a huge roll in the outcome. I know I am proud to have Green returning the punts, especially if a return swings the momentum in our direction. While it is good to be confident that our defense will shut OU down and our offense will continue to click like they have been, I find it odd to believe special teams wouldn't play as a huge factor in this game. Frank Monica at SCC lives for special teams. He turned the shitty team we had 4 years ago into a team that can actually compete. Playing under him for that long made me realize that special teams can be crucial, if not the determining factor, in big games such as this one. Lata, Crackle
Is LSU going to blow OU out of the water or is OU going to wipe the floor with us? You've been known to back up what you say and hold very good and rational reasons, but I don't see how "It won't, because it won't..." reflects on your ability to reason in a good way. I'm not dissing you in any way, I just expected more of a response then that. Lata man, Crackle
that was a diss. i know a diss when i see a diss, and that was a diss...ramah style. just kidding. This game will not be close, just like the SECCG was not close. Somebody's offense is going to blow up, and I think LSU has more weapons to do so, and our QB is healthy and does not have big head like OU's qb does currently. LSU 30 OU 10
To elaborate on my initial response to you... OU has played exactly ONE defense all year that pressured them...What happened? What are the weaknesses of the OU quarterback? What happened when a team with a great pass rush exposed this weakness? What happened when OU found itself playing with not only a conference title-but a national championship-on the line? What happened when LSU found itself with those same stakes on the line for no less than what...3 months now? Since the Florida game, we've been in a one game, sudden death playoff for our division, conference, and national title chances...We've shown up and DOMINATED for SEVEN STRAIGHT GAMES. When they had the same stakes on the line, for just ONE game, they tanked... Results speak much louder than any fans can...and the results are there for any of us to see, in plain as day terms... OU didn't show up the one time it counted... LSU showed up for SEVEN games, with exponentially and ever spiraling increases in intensity showing up for them to combat as well as the other teams...We are worthy to the task, my friends... OU isn't to be sneezed at, but I just continually feel that even our own fanbase denigrates just how dominant and good this team truly is... Results, my friends...results!
Well ... it's about time! OU has been exposed in the Bama game, the Baylor game, the TT game ... and the KSU game ... the degree of "exposure" proportional to the "eagle" in your eyes. It takes a freight train to run over some people "watching" FB.
Thank you You have answered my question now wil the game be close or a blowout . Can these two great teams give the best bowl game of the year ? I hope the Tiger team that beat Georgia shows up not the one that played the Gators . The gators showed a flaw or two in our defense . I know we have had time to work and get it right ,but other teams when they have moved the ball on 3rd and long went over the middle to an open receiver out of the backfield . I hope White can not see that I know it is in the qb's read of the defense , Geaux tigers keep the great OKLA quarterback on his back 10 yards at a time
The game will not be close because... They haven't face an offensive line like ours all year... They haven't faced a stable of horses like the ones in our backfield... They haven't faced as balanced an offense as the one we have... They haven't faced a defense as talented as ours... They haven't faced a special teams unit as talented as ours... They haven't faced a TEAM like ours all year... We, on the other hand, have went up against tough teams over and over and over again...Georgia, Auburn, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Georgia...We've had our put feet to the fire, and we walked over the coals... We're ready, and OU better get its house in order... I feel like that loss will stay with them, and even if it doesn't, they'll be shell-shocked by the atmosphere leading up to the game... I don't see this game being close-AT ALL. I am not overconfident...I don't really even see myself as confident... I just see myself as a realist...
